Spring is my favorite season and you've captured one of the reasons why. Suggest trying a crop of the left side and the bottom. With so many flowers, the very effective contrast of the green leaves tends to lose its impact. And the flowers that you'd lose are a just a tad soft. Thanks, Bill - your image put me in a nice mood! |

Agree with Bill and Beverly's comments. Given the fragmented condition of the seaweed, I found myself wondering what it was. The sand and its details are very interesting but there is a bit too much of it in this image. Try a smaller piece of seaweed shot at a very close distance and see what you think. Nice idea and thanks for the new insight into sand. |

The symmetry of your image is very appealing and the background color & bokeh add to its appeal. At f11, I would have thought you'd have more DOF. Agree with both of Bill P's comments re focus and cropping the bottom (about 1/3 or enough to eliminate most of the green 'bump' on the right of the main vein. Since you used a tripod and the focus is still soft, my guess is this was outdoors and there was a slight breeze, which at .6 second exposure, would impact focus. Seemed like a long exposure? |
