A very nice intimate photo of a special moment. For me the hands are the whole story so I probably would have eliminated the judges hands or as suggested put a dark vignette on to put all the focus on the hands. |

I like your vision and how you wanted to have the driftwood lead the eye to the fort buildings in a more unique way. I did find that I was distracted by the beach grass on the left side and the small area of water on the right. For me the edit that Robert did puts the focus on the driftwood and the buildings. It's all a personal choice. |

I think your composition of the leaves on the black background works well. I probably would have taken the little leaf in the top left out so there would be an odd number. Personal choice of course. |

Despite the drought I think the gold leaves are beautiful. If you enlarge the image there is artifact where you removed the spot of blue sky. It's not birds. I rather like the spot of blue as it breaks up the sky. |

A beautiful tree showing off its fall colors. So glad you were able to save the tree. I'm glad I don't have to rake up the leaves. |

It must be a beautiful site to see fields of these sunflowers. Although it would be fun to see the whole field of sunflowers I like how you got low and put the focus on a section of the flowers. I'm wondering if a square crop would highlight the flowers more on the right while decreasing the more distracting field of flowers on the left. |

You caught a great moment in the squabble. The birds look sharp and your shutter speed was fast enough to stop the action. I think the vertical crop works well with the birds on different verticals levels. I don't see anything I would change. Well done. |

Oh my Judith, this is lovely. The highlights in the middle of the flower really sets off the center parts (I don't know what they are called) and the varied hue of the blue just makes for an outstanding image. The only thing I would suggest is putting a thin stroke/frame around the image so we know where the frame ends. You should make a book of your beautiful flower creations. |

For me it's always a treat when I can find and photograph sandhill cranes. I didn't know there were lesser sandhill cranes so learned something new today (I had to look it up.) It was nice that you got three together and they are all looking the same way. To me the the image looks soft or out of focus. It seems you had a fast enough shutter speed but handholding a telephoto lens can still be a risk in getting a sharp image. A tripod would have really helped here but many times we don't carry one with us. I find the grasses behind the cranes intersecting with their heads very distracting. If you could have taken the image from a different angle, moving to the right, might have helped but may not have been possible. |

This may be a butt shot but it's one of the best I have seen. To me what really adds to the image is the wind blowing the feathers to the left both on his wing and neck and that his head is turned so you see his full profile. I think your post processing is great especially converting to monochrome. The distracting background is removed, full focus is on the egret and it amplifies the details of his beautiful feathers. In my opinion this is a winner! |
