51 Sep 24 Comment I like the contrast of the red Koi against the white ones and the ripples in the water indicating the fast movement of the fish. I agree that the bank helps to give a sense of place. I'm surprised racoons or opossum haven't found them. Sep 13th
51 Sep 24 Comment I like your composition with the tree on the left and the fence in the foreground to nicely frame the resting/reading area. Is the hanging car a bird house or bird feeder? It appears you used an HDR effect on the image which I like. The one area that pulls my eye away is the sky area between the leaves on the right where the hanger and branch are blue. Not sure how to correct except maybe decreasing contrast. Sep 13th
51 Sep 24 Comment A lot of lines make up this interesting abstract. It would be fun to play with some different textures or LUTS with this image. Sep 13th
51 Sep 24 Comment Interesting process and outcome. To me the flowers in the original look sharper than in the processed image. I have not tried this method so have nothing to add that would help you get your desired effect. Sep 13th
51 Sep 24 Comment The flower is nice and sharp and I like that you have change the background. So, I'm assuming you made a composite by cutting out the flower and placing it on the vegetation. Could you explain your process a little more please. Sep 13th
51 Sep 24 Reply She is greatly loved. The studio light mode automatically puts the dark vignette around the subject. Sep 13th

52 Sep 24 Reply Thanks Polly. I think the vote is in: darken or blur the fencing on the right some more :) Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Reply Thanks Judith. I have some images with the parent flying in to feed them but this one just spoke volumes to me. Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Reply Thanks Ann. I think the consensus from everyone is to blur the right side a little more. Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Reply Thanks Sharon. The nest didn't look too bright to me until everyone commented on it. Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Reply Thanks for the suggestions Mike. Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Comment A very beautiful panorama. I think your post processing is spot on and I have no suggestions. I sort of like the original sky as it seems to have more drama but also like your selection for a sky replacement. The curve of the river from left and flowing around to the right really guides the eye through the image. Do you remember if you were on a tripod or handheld? A keeper for sure and maybe even one to put on your wall. Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Comment Great find Judith. To me this is all about simplicity and light and shadow. I'm an outlier with Sharon. In my opinion a vertical crop excluding the shadow in the bottom right would put all the focus on your subject, the ivy and it's shadow. Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Comment You captured this cedar waxwing at just the right moment. In my opinion your selection of a vertical crop and a tight crop really put the focus on the bird. I agree with the others about correcting the purple/blue color on the birds breast. Great catch light in the eye and very sharp. Well done. Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Comment Very peaceful scene that makes you want to sit on the beach and watch the sunset. For me I think I would punch up the color a little bit. To me it looks a little flat. I rather like the foreground rocky finger jutting into the ocean as it sort of mimics the lines in the sky. I do agree with Sharon that either cropping a little off the top or bottom to get the horizon line out of the middle of the composition would benefit the composition. Sep 15th
52 Sep 24 Comment I keep looking at this image and wondering. I like the play of light and shadows on the bird/feathers and that was your objective. I understand the head was in shadow but for me I would like to see the head lightened a bit and for the red on his head to show a bit more. I agree with eliminating the green foliage. There are two black areas at the base of the neck that keep drawing my eye. I would suggest cloning in white from the surrounding feathers.
I'm totally lost in seeing Judith's interpretation of a figurehead on a war ship.......

52 Sep 24 Comment You have created a beautiful image of this young buck. For me everything comes together in this image. The stare of the deer (they will stand like statues hoping you don't see them), the glint in his eye, the detail in his coat, ears pricked up listening and the field of flowers he is standing in showing his environment. I like your treatment of the sky. We usually don't like blank gray skies but in this case I think it works and wonder if there were clouds if they would take the focus off the magnificent deer. To me this is more than just a slideshow image. Sep 13th
