Your crop works well in respecting the woman's wish to not be photographed and leaving just enough of her red coat to go along with the red coats on the dogs. After all the dogs are the focus of the image. Nice cleanup of the sidewalk. Nice street image. |

Both images are very nice but I like the action of the crashing wave in the background. For me it turns a static images into an action image. Your shutter speed was fast enough to freeze the water. Everything is tack sharp. Well done. |

What a wonderful flat lay and very creative. To me everything works in this image from the camera being slightly off center, the lens cap on the right, the image in the viewfinder, the lighting and the frame. I hope you camera club was impressed. Well done. |

Your crop and straightening worked well. The crop eliminated the distracting empty gravel area in the foreground. I like both images for different reasons. I like the blue and green tones in the color version and how the trees are set off by the sky. To me the B&W version becomes more simplified. |

I love everything about this image. Jerry showed it in our PSA phone club and how he did the editing. It reminds me of an old time painting. It is worthy of framing and hanging on your wall. |

As the others have said the image is small and hard to evaluate. I like that you included more sky to show off the big fluffy clouds. |

Another amazing abstract. You have such a creative mind. Thank you for describing the process. I think the softness works well. Although our eye usually wants to find something sharp in an image I think overall softness can work in certain subjects and I think it works in this case. |

This really does look like a desolate place. I have been contemplating if the log is a distraction but have come to the conclusion that it adds to the loneliness and moodiness of the place and actually is an anchor so kudos of including it. Nicely seen and captured. |

Very nice image of this little bird. I think the crop works well, however I wonder if cropping just a little bit more from the top right corner would give more focus on the bird. Nice bokeh in the background. The diagonal of the branch works really well and with the bird looking to the right. |

That tree trunk is a bit of a distraction and I thought about trying to remove it. Sometimes it can look worse when you try to remove something. And nature is what it is. |

We only had time to get about 10 images as the bison walked toward us and then we had to get back into the snow coach as they were getting too close. I was just happy that in this one image the lead bison looked toward me. |

Thanks Judith. I too would like the tree trunks gone. I will give it a try. |

Beautiful Image. To me all the colors and tones in the image are very inviting and pleasing to the eye. I too like a slower shutter speed for waterfalls and it can be trial and error to get the right shutter speed. I think you were spot on. I like that you cropped out the foreground rock as I found it distracting. I'm wondering what a horizontal composition would look like. Good luck in the competition. |

I find it interesting that I could not see you image at all on my PC. There was just a tiny box. So, I checked on my iPhone and could see the image and have now moved to my iPad for commenting. Wonder if anyone else on a PC had this problem.
Great catch in finding and photographing this shy bird. I don't think I have ever seen one. It looks sharp and I think your crop and rotation work well in putting the focus on the subject. To me it does have more blue tones and I would agree with Sharon on warmer tones being more natural to the habitat. Well done. |
