51 Sep 23 Reply I agree with the brightness of the sky and did a different composition in another picture where I left the sky out. I didn't think of using a different app at the time. We were parked where the road was closed because they have been doing a lot of road repair this summer. You were not supposed to park there, only turn around. Sometimes I don't follow the rules 🥴 Sep 16th
51 Sep 23 Reply I did crop out the sky in another picture I took. Sep 16th
51 Sep 23 Comment What great fun to experiment photographing these super fast birds with a phone camera. The ProCamera app seemed to do the job. Even more amazing, you couldn't see the birds and if you had they would have been gone by the time you pushed the shutter. Just fire away and see later if you captured something. I suspect one hummer is chasing the other one away while there is a third hummer on the feeder eating. Sep 16th
51 Sep 23 Comment Very nicely composed with the grandkids to the left side of the path so the viewer can see what they are walking toward. The sand being flipped up by the slip slops, the sea grass bending in the wind, gulls in the air and people on the beach all add to this memorable time with family at the ocean. Well done Lynne. 51 Sep 23 Comment I love trains also. This really works well in B&W. As others have said the leading line of the train cars and the power lines pulls the eye through the image. I think the field of grass adds a lonely feeling to the scene. My only suggestion would be to take out the short leaning post with the sign on it in the bottom left corner. A real country feel to this image. Nicely done especially through a car window. Sep 16th
51 Sep 23 Comment An interesting illustration of the two forms of bee balm. What beautiful flowers. The app you used is new to me so I can offer no help. Does the app automatically put the frame around the images? Sep 16th
51 Sep 23 Comment The effects you used really added a lot of punch to this image. It would be interesting to see the before image. You always have so many great ideas. Have you shared this with the neighbor? Sep 16th
51 Sep 23 Comment Nice Eagle eye view of the dam and lock. As others have said the lines lead the eye across the dam and up the road on the other side. It is nice that there is a park above the river to give you such a nice view point. Sep 16th

52 Sep 23 Comment I think you have captured a beautiful image of these giraffes. Your post processing has really added life to the image. Since we can't control environmental elements we just have to work with what we are given. Since the line on the horizon is there in the original I think you have done a nice job of adding interest with the brighter colors. At first I thought the image needed a little straightening but the giraffes are standing straight so I concluded it was a slope in the ground. I love the line of ox peckers going up the adults neck. The vertical crop works well for these tall creatures. If I had anything to suggest it would be to clone out the branches sticking in from the left by the baby. Sep 17th
52 Sep 23 Comment You must have a bountiful garden with all the flowers you show us. In looking at the three images I am most drawn to Original 2. The lily in this image has a place in the garden with a soft background eliminating distractions. To me the main edited image is not sharp so I'm not sure where to look. As others have said the yellow behind the stamen is distracting and the flower has no anchor, just floating in air. To me Original 2 is your winning image. Sep 17th
52 Sep 23 Comment You have captured a beautiful moment between the chick and parent. There is nice detail in the feathers of the adult and both parent and chick are very sharp. I think your crop works well. Being constrained by the Nature rules I think you did a nice job in decreasing the background clutter. To me it seems a bit dark but I am looking at it on my iPad. Well done. Sep 17th
52 Sep 23 Comment You did a great job with your composition in that there are no grass blades going through the chipmunks face. Nice and sharp and great catch light in the eye. I agree with the others suggestions as well as decreasing the saturation on the grass. Also, maybe masking the chipmunk and bringing up the exposure very slightly. He posed nicely for you and having his breakfast added to the charm of this little guy. Sep 17th
52 Sep 23 Comment I don't think I have seen a blue jellyfish before, he is beautiful. Shooting through the glass at an aquarium is a challenge. I use a rubber hood on my lens when shooting through glass, works great at eliminating reflections. It is also surprising how much is floating in the water. You have done a wonderful job cleaning up the surrounding area and giving a nice black background to set off this beautiful creature. As others have suggested, a thin white border would give the viewer a frame to look into. Sep 17th
52 Sep 23 Comment I apologize for being late in my reviews this month. Covid caught up to me Labor Day weekend so I have not felt well the last couple of weeks.
Sometimes we just have to shoot on the fly and luckily the post processing programs come to our rescue. You benefited from the suggestion "to always look behind you." I think your post processing did a great job in bringing out the best in this image. There is nice detail in the lizard and the branch he is on. I think trying to bring down the highlights on the white belly would end up turning it gray. I don't find it distracting as it is a small part of the lizard. My only suggestion might be to crop a little tighter so the lizard is more the focal point than the branch.
