Ok, I'm totally confused by what I'm seeing and from the comments what others are seeing. I see the original image of the red flower in a nursery setting. Then I see a big mossy tree with a woman walking up a trail.
So, commenting on the tree image I like how the tree sits off to the left with the winding trail going off to the right and having a walker on the trail adds a nice perspective to the whole scene.
I refreshed my browser but still see the red flower as original and the mossy tree as the edited image. I don't see the red flower against a black background. |

I like this BW version. It makes me wonder why you have to stop if you can only turn left. It almost looks to be the end of the road. For me I would like to see the top of the STOP sign included. Nicely seen and captured. I would probably just blow through the stop sign and not see the potential for an image. |

I like BW images but in this case my preference leans toward the color version. I think what bothers me is the "blown out" background which is the fog and the diminished detail in the trees. I have always had a hard time post processing a foggy scene, maybe because my mind wants it to be different than it actually is. |

Very creative work Jerry and use of the apps. I'm not good at detecting color shifts unless someone points them out to me. I love the waterfalls and the slow shutter to show the motion of the water. Finger touch capture is something new to me also. Well done. |

You have nicely captured the peace and solitude of the morning sunrise. What beautiful golden colors. I like how the sun glows as it crests the mountain top. I like that you included the cactus in the foreground to give it a sense of place. If I had one suggestion it would be to include a little bit more of the cactus as they seem to me to be cut off unnaturally. |

Thanks, I agree I should tone down the background green. |

Yes, I think I should do that also. |

Well, I must admit I didn't find the nest. It was spotted at the nearby NWR and word gets around and a friend took me to it. No flash. In Topaz I used the low light option. I have used it on several images and find it works the best.
I have a lot of hummer activity in my yard but have never found a nest. I see them fly over to the Army base side of the fence so I assume that is where they are nesting. My backyard backs up to a Douglas fir forest that is Joint Base Lewis McChord. |

WOW, what an unusual action shot and the arch of the water droplets adds to the story. A one in a million shot. I love everything about this image. It is a winner! |

Judith, you do an exceptional job with difficult flower subjects. I like the color of the pink flowers against the soft yellow and browns of the background. To me your main subject are the flowers pretty much in the center of the image and I would want to crop in to put the main focus on them. My eye is pulled to the flowers in the top right and bottom left. Possibly cropping as Mike suggested or in the future you might try different vantage points or use a plant clamp to hold some branches out of the way so you can isolate your main subject. |

What a beautiful image of the osprey with his/her meal. The osprey is tack sharp with nice catch light in the eye. I agree that the blue sky would benefit from a little desaturation. For me the dead branch coming in from the left and the out of focus branches in the lower right corner are distracting and can be easily removed. Well done. |

What a beautiful place to spend the early morning hours in solitude. I like your post processing as well as Mike's so I think it is what strikes your eye. For me the land looks a little flat so wondering if some dynamic contrast to boost the definition would be helpful. I think I would also try boosting the colors in the hills/mountain just a bit but not too much. I guess what I'm saying is a little more punch without going overboard. |

Beautiful capture of this amazing bird. I love the position of the wings, sharp eye with an intent stare. The soft background accentuates the bird without being distracting. I agree with Ally and Mike that the crop is a bit too tight. |

Wonderful capture, one in a million! The swallow looking right at you really makes it a winner. Your patience paid off. To me everything works in this image from the wing position to the beady eyes. |
