Well I'm not sure I would say the sheep are tame more that they are use to people. They come down from the high butte where they spend the night safe from predators. They feed near the road and people visiting the refuge have to stay on the road. So, you are pretty close to them. |

Well Sharon, I did some research on my Sony a7r3 and it does have eye auto focus for people and animals. I'm hanging my head in ignorance. Now I need to try it out. |

You have to be quick to capture these tweety birds. I think your crop worked well even if it was severe. The bird has a nice catch light in the eye and the eye looks sharp. I think it is a nice documentation shot. I really don't have anything constructive to offer. My personal feeling is a bird in flight is like a bird sitting on a stick. I want to see them doing something like eagles in mid air with their talons locked. I have friends who will only shoot birds in flight and if that is their thing, go for it. It's a good thing we all have different tastes. |

You make me smile Judith. I'm afraid if I took a safari around my backyard I would just see how much work needs to be done. I like your description of how you took the image and processed it, however it would be nice to see the original for comparison. I'm a very visual person. The leaf is really nice and sharp and it has nice placement in the frame. I agree with Mike on dodging the frame a bit. Sharon has some interesting suggestions which are beyond my creativity. |

A great moment in time to capture this little insect. I like how you can really see the iridescence in the wings. I agree with Mike and Sharon on the crop. I want my focus to go directly on the main subject. I also agree with Sharon on how important it is to give technical details on how the image was taken. I don't do much macro so I like to be inspired by others techniques and maybe it will entice me to do more macro. Kudos for taking a photo of a fly. I'm sure I would have just shooed it away :) Well done! |

Just a beautiful image of Bond Falls. I hope to visit here again. I think your selection of shutter speed was just right to give the water the right about of motion, not too fast and not too slow. You were successful in removing the leaves in the bottom right of the image, however there is still one small piece sticking up right in the corner. The orange foliage at the top right tends to pull my eye over there. Maybe tone it down to more the color of the original. I like your treatment of the sky and the mist rising from the falls gives a nice mood to the image. This would look beautiful as a metal print. |

Thanks Sharon. My Sony 7RM3 does not have eye tracking. I'm considering the move up to a camera that offers that feature. I now see the slight blueness to the snow. I did set the white point but will go back and bring the blues down. |

Thanks Mike. My fear in trying to separate the middle rams horn is that it would be obvious but it is worth a try. It was nice to not have falling snow when I took this image because it made focusing more difficult. I have plenty of images of the sheep in falling and blowing snow. |
