Dave, I made a comment on Bob's page about us not posting our original images so we can see the results of post processing and use it as a learning tool. I'm guilty also and will try to remember to post my original image also next month. |

You have captured a beautiful moment in time. Having the people in the scene really adds to the interest and also adds perspective. I love your post processing. I also see what Bob mentioned about reducing highlights just a bit on the left and adding a little highlight to the people.
As I have looked at the images this month I have realized that we have gotten away from posting our original image and I'm guilty also. I hope we can get back to showing the original as it helps to understand the post processing and is a learning tool. |

Great capture Lynne. I think your angle of capture works well by giving the scene place even though it can cause the brain to wonder if it's looking in or out. Keeping part of the sky in at the top helps keep the brain, or at least mine, realizing which way it's looking. Finding reflections in these glass buildings is fun. I wonder what it would look like on a stormy day. |

For me the silos with the shadow and the wispy clouds are the image. The moon is just a little added bonus. Converting it to black and white really works even though I can't compare it to the color image. Silver silos and dark shadows scream b/w so I think you made the right choice. Adding the white border helps set off the white in the image although I might have gone with a narrower frame. |

Beautiful capture and post processing with a nice vertical crop to isolate the flowers. You almost have the "rule of odds" with five flowers in front and the sixth partially hidden. The L shape of the flowers adds interest and the vertical crop sets it all off nicely. |

Beautiful capture and post processing. It is amazing how well you were able to hold the bright pink without blowing the color out. Were the reflections there and enhanced by the Reflect app or did the app add the reflection? |

I love this Dave. Great composition to get low and put the sun between the rails and get to rays across the boardwalk. I'm wondering what the red object is on the right lower area of the boardwalk. This is definitely a keeper and worthy of framing. It really paid off to take an early morning walk. |

I'm not stuck on an aspect ratio and often do square crops. That was one of my questions to the group as to if I should crop more from the left. Thanks for your input. |

After looking at the original I was impressed by how well you did taking out the distracting elements. Then I read your description that it's a composite and I'm still impressed. The fill flash did a nice job highlighting the butterfly. I can see the full antennae in the back but most of it is black from being shaded so you have to look closely. My only suggestion is to put a narrow white or light border around the image to set it off from the black page. Very nice. |

I have never seen a mantis here in Washington but I think they are around. I love the gold color on the mantis and the points of light in his eyes. It would be nice to see the original. Did the original have more room on the left to include the antennae? You did a great job maintaining sharpness and detail while shooting through glass. Well done. |

You got a nice shot of the Booby under difficult conditions. I agree with the others as to adding more space on the left, right and bottom. To me the wings and the neck feathers are a little too dark. I might suggest using a local adjustment and bringing up the exposure in those areas just a bit and adding a little light to the eye. |

I want to put this little guy in my pocket to warm him up. Great capture. I agree with Mike and like his edit with increasing the exposure. I also agree with Lisa in that I would like to see a tighter crop to make the chipmunk more the center of focus but not so tight as to take away the environmental effect of the snowy branches. I would suggest just a little from the top and right. Well done. |

This is a pretty severe crop but it worked well and I like the vertical aspect and that you flipped the butterfly to look to the right. Your post processing is really well done. The butterfly looks sharp and the colors all work well together. Well done. |

Beautiful image of the kestrel. Nice detail and highlight in the eye. I do like the more dappled background of the original. I don't know what is causing it but there are two vertical strips n the top left corner. |
