I was confused also until you said Original 3 was the final image. I had never heard of this scope. Thanks for showing us what it can do and also showing the scope. Do you know what the power factor of the scope is? |

Thank you for all the kind comments. Sometimes I do much better with my phone than I do with my big girl camera. |

A new app to think about. Thank you for the explanation of your process. I think getting artistic with images can be fun and sometimes turn a mediocre image into a very pleasing image. I like the crop you did after Lynne's suggestion. Nicely done. |

This looks like a very serene place to live or just to spend some time. I'm wondering if bringing down the highlights and adding some contrast would add some punch to the image. This would be a great place to photograph in all four seasons. |

Jerry, you have so much fun with new gadgets. I can just see you juggling everything to get the image. The flash put beautiful light on the flower. If it was my image I would do a square crop to isolate the flower as that is your main subject. For me the object on the left margin is distracting and adds nothing to the image. |

You have seen some wonderful landscapes on your hikes. I would love to see what is around the corner. Are you alone on these hikes? |

Thank you for the suggestions. I was afraid if I left more of the fog at the top it would be too bright and distract from the waterfall and canyon. I see now that the greenery is a bit bright. Now you have me thinking about a different crop. |

I was standing on the road where the stream went under the roadway. Very safe position. |

Beautiful capture of this hawk in action. Nice sharp detail. That Sony a1 is the premier action camera and with the skill of the photographer you get some amazing images. I also like that you flipped the image. The only thing I would suggest is taking out the spot of white at the back edge of the hawk's right wing. Probably a bit of feather. Knowing animal behavior is key in these moments. Well done. |

You seem to have a fascinating backyard to roam around in finding great subjects to photograph. I like that you took out the out of focus front seed. This is a time when focus stacking would have worked nicely to keep that pod in focus along with the others and give you the odd number of pods. To me there looks to be artifact in the bright upper right area possibly from the post processing. I'm thinking maybe a tighter crop on the seed pods would help remove that distraction and keep the viewers eye on the main subject. I agree with Lisa about filling in on the leaf where the seed pod was removed. I look forward each month to see what tidbit of nature you are going to show us next. |

You really did a nice job capturing this kingfisher in his environment. It's amazing how they can land on a thorny branch and not get stuck by a thorn. Sharp, not over processed and nice light in the eye. You had a good eye finding him. If I had anything to suggest it would be a slight vignette and yes more room for the bird to look into. |

This is certainly the time of year to be photographing sunflowers. I like Mike's crop and treatment of the center to bring out more detail. Like Judith said HDR might have helped with the dynamic contract. That being said, if you want to keep your composition then my suggestion would be to mask the seed head to bring out more detail and lighten it a bit. I think I would tone down the bright green leaf and also remove or darken the white specular highlights at the bottom left. I try to think about what is the main focus of my image and how can I but the focus of the viewer there and also what distracts from the main subject that I should remove or decrease it's importance in the image. |

You really brought this little hummer to life with your excellent post processing. I like the gradation of color in the background. If I had anything to suggest it would be to try a square crop to reduce some of the negative space at the top. This will make a beautiful note card. |
