Great spontaneous shot. The rim light around the people works well because of the intense sun. The man in the middle with the wine glass is the highlight and really makes the image. Good eye and capture. |

I like shooting reflections especially in a marina. I think the Tiny Planet works better as all the twists and turns keep the eye moving through the image and causes a lot of contemplation. Good choice. |

Very nice spontaneous shot. I don't think I have ever been turned down when I have asked someone if I could take a pic. Depending on the situation I also ask if they would share their email address and I send them the image. Great smiles and beautiful horses. |

I also like the color image better. I think you can see more detail in the ice and rocks. I played with a little edit in the color one. |

A beautiful image of the poppy and the red is not blown out which happens often if you don't watch the exposure of the red channel. Very sharp and crisp. I'm all about cropping into the main subject so I would probably crop out the two yellow flowers in the background or tone them down with a mask or vignette. Love the composition and getting low. |

Beautiful composition. I like that you are experimenting with Distressed Fx. It would be nice to see the before image also. The suggestion of it looking like the cover of an old western novel is spot on. The effect you applied works well for the scene. |

I think you did a really good job at tracking this egret. This is an image I would probably throw out but you are showing me that action blurs of wildlife can still work and be keepers. I agree that the head and eye look acceptably sharp. I like that you flipped the image as I feel it works better flying to the right. The Sony A1 is a remarkable camera for its ability to lock on focus especially of the eye. |

Isn't it refreshing to see Spring finally arrive. I think you did a nice job getting the focus sharp on the head of the bee as for me that is the focal point. I don't mind the softness in the rest of the bee or the flower as they are in focus enough to tell the story. Nice capture and good eye to spot him. |

The underwater world is not my genre of photography so kudos to you for persevering. If your subject is the Yellow-headed Jawfish then I would crop in much tighter so there is no question that he is your subject. You mentioned that you were not happy with the equipment you were using so that might play a big part in the ability to get a tighter shot or the ability to crop tighter and still retain detail. I really don't have any other suggestions other than to keep trying. |

I like both the color and B&W but I do think the B&W reduces some of the distractions in the road. I don't know if you took this vertically or cropped that way but it works. You didn't say what your f stop was but the front cub looks pretty sharp with softness going back to the last cub. I like that you can see each cubs eyes. Even at 1/250sec it looks like you were able to stop their motion. You also have nice catch light in the eyes. You were in the right place at the right time. Well done. |

Wow, I can't believe how many people are there that early in the morning. Everyone had the same idea to beat the crowds. I like your composition with the branch of blossoms in the foreground and the curve of the basin and the trees in the background. I feel like I want to see more light on the foreground blossoms to make them more of the subject or focus of the composition. A soft fill flash might have helped brighten up those blossoms. I'm not sure if it could be accomplished in post processing as there is so much detail. Maybe someone else has an idea. |

Beautiful capture and sharp detail. I think the crop works well and the heron has nice room to look into. The feathers under his bill look a little hot but not sure in the small space if it could be toned down a little. I think the only thing I would suggest is to take out the small spot in the water just behind the heron. That heron was just waiting for you to look away. |
