I find this image very comforting and brings a sense of peace. The line of the trees going back and then to the right leads the eye around the image. The cloudy day was ideal, as a bright sunny day would have caused a far different feel. I can picture a bench amongst the trees and a nice place to sit and contemplate the day. I like that your composition filled the upper part of the frame with the tree canopy. No sky needed here. Well done. |

In Salzburg, Austria there is a bridge across the river that has hundreds of "love locks" attached to it. The weight of hundreds of locks can cause a problem. You have nicely captured a moment in time of "love and commitment." Hopefully, the love lasts. It's interesting that it only takes one person to start the "fad" and others will follow. |

I have looked at leaves with the idea to photograph them but all I could see was a busy unattractive bunch of leaves. You have really made an wonderful image. The natural lighting is a bonus and nicely sets off the leaves in the center. I agree with the others that the framing really lets it off. Well done. |

Very nice composition. Not only should we look behind us but we should look up. The sky can hold wonderful cloud formations. |

I really like this composition, so simple but so compelling. Well done. I have tried to photograph a subject on black plexiglass but had trouble with reflections of other objects getting into my composition. I think your description of your setup will help me in the future. |

Nature is amazing and only a photographer would notice the tree hanging on to the last signs of fall. Very nice composition with the road leading the eye into the frame and to the tree. A bright light in a snow storm. Nice catch. |

The image I submitted had been resized to 865kb so if you reduced it more that could be a problem. |

I like the curve of the branch leading up to the Phoebe. I think the crop works well along with the muted background. Nice profile and catch light in the birds eye. I don't feel any competition in the image, as the branch is part of the birds environment. The curve of the branch and the curve in the leaves all add to the impact of the image. Well done. |

You have made a beautiful abstract out of this composition. I like the crop to isolate the flowers. I actually see two separate images here. The top flower as Lisa suggested and I see the second image as the bottom two flowers. I think the muted background and the colors nicely set off the yellow flowers. Well done. |

What a great opportunity to photograph these beautiful owlets. I like that three of them posed so that you can see their full face. I agree with Mike that I would clean up some of the white spots on the wall. I think if it was totally clean it would look unnatural. Great catch light in the eyes. I would like to see more of the owlet in the back trying to hide. For me it is too dark and I prefer the lighting in the original better. You can almost tell that the center owlet is the dominant one. Well done. |

A beautiful image and I really like that you were shooting at their level. The lighting on the mouth is spot on as it really puts the focus on that huge mouth. Just as a comparison I would like to see the image with more of the right hippo showing to just past his eyes/ears. If you have various compositions of this scene you can play with different crops to see what you like the best. |

A fall image for sure. You didn't say what your camera settings were. More depth of field might have helped to get more sharpness in the pine cone and the surrounding leaves. I think a tighter crop might also help to remove some of the business of the twigs surrounding the subject. I agree with the others that trying a sharpening program might help to bring more detail to the pine cone. |

A beautiful image of this majestic animal. I do like the tighter crop and flip that Judith did. The darker areas on the chest and belly really don't bother me as it is evident by the light on the horns and rim light on the back that the light is low so there will be more shadow. I think the tighter crop that eliminates the light colored hills in the background puts all the focus on the ram where it should be. |
