Hi Anne, you did a great job capturing this little fella especially shooting through a window which in it's self can be a challenge. Very sharp and nice catch light in the eye. Busy/distracting backgrounds can be a challenge. In some ways I would like to see some out of focus or soft background. It would be nice to have him looking into the frame instead of out of the frame but sometimes you are limited in the composition. Nicely done. |

It continues to amaze me what others find to photograph that I would just walk by. Good eye Sol. I do like the conversion to mostly B&W as it decreases the amount of colorful ribbons that catch the eye and move it away from "love." |

I love you composition and your husband walking into the frame is a bonus. I prefer the artistic B&W version. For me it reduces the image to the important details and simplifies the composition. Well done. I just checked Amazon for Scott Kelby's iPhone book and it's $29.95. A new one is coming out in June that you can pre-order. |

A quiet beautiful place for a walk. I love the big fluffy clouds as they really add to the image. It would have a far different feel with a plain blue sky. I agree with the others about a more panorama crop by decreasing the amount of grass. I wouldn't want to lose any of the sky. |

I like how you cropped in to isolate the logs and working area. I agree with the others that the B&W was a good choice. I can't see the frame you said you used so perhaps a more ragged frame would work better. I don't envy you the work that is ahead of you. |

A very creative image. You are inspiring me to do more with the Slow Shutter app. Even though it is abstract I can still distinguish the trees and maybe flowers in the foreground. This would look nice framed or as a background on your computer. Beautifully done. |

Sometimes it pays off to get stuck in traffic. An amazing capture of the sky and the environment. What can I say but WOW. |

Thanks Jerry, I did get the ViewExif app and I keep my phone updated to the latest iOS. I will try the "auto" setting next time. My shutter speed was 30 sec. |

Thanks Sharon. That morning I had only one focus and that was the wave action. I didn't care about the lighthouse. On a different day and different circumstances I would shoot and process it differently. |

I appreciate all of the comments and your suggestions. In reality this is not an image I would have kept except my goal was just to do a slow shutter speed of the water movement. For me the rest of the scene that morning was very boring. It wasn't until I zoomed in on the waves hitting the rock face did I realize I had actually captured the action I was looking for. In hindsight I should have used a telephoto lens to isolate the water hitting the rocks. If it had been a dramatic scene that morning I would have bracketed my shots to capture the dynamic range. |

Well, Mike, I think this is a beautiful image and your post processing is spot on. Thank you for telling us how you hid the background bird on the left. I never would have thought to do that. I like how the nest branches are muted enough to not be distracting but yet you know what it is. I rather like that one bird has his head down as it gives separation. You can't see that birds body so I think if his head was up and the bill intertwined with the others it would leave me guessing. I also love the glow of sunrise in the rim of the birds feathers. I really can't see anything to change. Bravo on a beautiful image. |

I think you have captured a beautiful flower in your garden. Not being a flower photographer I am always interested in the compositions and post processing. I think you have done a nice job isolating the flower from the background and using the techniques you are learning in your course. I would clone out the bit of purple in the top right corner and put a vignette on if you haven't already. In my opinion the flower has nice dof, the back petals look sharp as does the middle of the flower. The front petal being soft doesn't bother me. I'm not sure if I would like the lighter background areas darkened a bit and the flower lightened a bit so it will be interesting to see what others say in their comments. |

You are so fortunate to live in a area with so much wildlife diversity right outside your window. It would have been nice to see the original for comparison. For me the negative space does not work in this image as it is too busy and detracts from the subject, the chick. I don't know how much you have cropped or if you could have zoomed in more on just the chick when you photographed it. |

This is a nice documentary image of the landscape and atmosphere in the area. I like the foreground subject and how it shows the diversity of the location. I would like to see a little more room between the mountains and the edge of the frame. To me it seemed the image was flat. I took it out to ON1 2021 and added some dynamic contrast to the foreground and lightened the image a bit. I think the three people in the image add a nice sense of perspective. I also cropped a slight bit at the bottom and removed the big divot in the left corner. |

You did capture the true sign of spring in this cherry blossom. I think you did a wonderful job at blurring the busy background into a nice background that highlights this blossom. The edges of the blossoms don't bother me. I'm also not really bothered by the dark branch as it is obviously in the shade and lightening it too much would in my opinion make it look unnatural. |

I looked up Egrets in my bird book and my vote is Snowy Egret based on the yellow at the base of the bill. Maybe the yellow in the rest of the bill is an odd variation. Sharon, I think you did a wonderful job in your post processing. You think of more editing in your images than I do and it shows in this amazing image. I think the detail and sharpness in the bird along with that wonderful reflection make this a winning image in my mind. I agree with Mike's suggestion of a vignette but I think only a slight one that is not noticeable. |
