You freeze the flowers very carefully. Start out with a little water in pan, arrange flowers, put in freezer for an hour. The first freezing will lock the flowers in place and keep them from floating to the top. (I learned this the hard way). Using bottled water I would add another bottle of water every hour until the flowers were covered. Bottled water is recommended for more clarity. |

WOW, what a transformation. I'm not familiar with "Enlight." You are far more creative than I am. Nicely done. |

For me the sign really makes the image. The bright colors and handmade character are right on. Great detail from front to back. I am often reminded by these types of photos to not just walk by but stop and capture the moment. Good job. |

I like how you used the RR tracks to lead off into the distance. Nice warm morning light on the building. Your vignette puts the focus on the tracks and building. Too many people killed standing on RR tracks, be careful. |

I love exploring old historical sites and I've never been along the canal system. If those stones could only talk, what a story they would tell. I would love to see this in B&W. If we don't keep capturing our history it will soon be gone. Nice job. |

Love those eyes and the expression on his face. You captured a precious moment to cherish. "This is mine, grandpa"

Love your use of the foreground rocks for framing. Beautiful colors in the rocks with nice detail in the shadows without blowing out the highlights. I'm working with triangles in photography this week and I several triangles in your image. Nicely done. |

This image or one similar looks a lot better taken with my DSLR. That white oval resulted from the ice being more dense there for some reason plus I had an led light behind the ice block to add illumination. |

An absolutely beautiful action image. I wouldn't do anything to change it. |

A beautiful flower. I would agree with Mike in exposing for the whites and watch your histogram to make sure you are not spiking on the right side. You can always bring up the whites in post processing but once they are blown out you can't get them back. Exposure bracketing would help especially if the setting was indoors with no air movement from fans, etc. I think your cropping is fine. If you can blur the background that would keep the focus on the orchid. |

What a beautiful bird. It looks more like a painting than a photograph. Congratulations on your success. To me the blue on the head does look a little unnatural but I have not viewed photographs of a male painted bunting so my assessment may be wrong. I too might paint out or clone out the green stem on the right. The fill flash worked nicely and with a nice catch light in the eye. |

My eye went right to those teeth also. I think he had his eye on you with a bit of a warning to back off. Very nice detail in this portrait. |

Beautiful colors in this sunset image. Playing with long exposure at the ocean can produce some ethereal images. You have done some nice processing and I like that you kept the horizon high above the mid point of the image. The one thing that bothers me some is the far wave is in shadow as it should be but the foreground wave is now the same tone as the top of the water. My eye keeps going back and forth between those two points. |

Beautiful image of the pelican. The reflection and the water being kicked up by the feet really add to an already great image. There is even a little water kicked up by the wing touching the water. Great detail. It would be nice to have a little more room in front of the pelican but sometimes we have to be grateful and excited by what we capture. |

Mike, I went back to the raw image and checked the eyes and they are slightly different. I thought I might have lightened them a bit but I didn't. I live in WA where we have had an over abundance of rain so everything is very green in the Evergreen State. Since I see the grass green like this especially in the winter it looks natural to me. Thanks for your comments. |
