Sorry I'm so late -- didn't realize I hadn't commented yet. I too think it's a terrific portrait, and appreciate your resizing -- we can see the image so much better. Nicely done! |

Just see that I've never commented -- so sorry. It is a lovely bird photo -- sharp face with eye highlight, sharp feathers. And agree with the others -- a tighter cropping would really help and the toning down of background the others have mentioned. |

I see what you mean, Hildi. Will see what I can do. |

Good sighting of subject and shadow. I agree with the cropping, but with Hildi's adjustment. But I find the white markings distracting -- these could be easily cloned out. I would not have known it was a metal background if not mentioned, so don't think deleting the distracting white would be a problem. |

You have a very good eye. This is a very fun and good abstract. The cropping of the right side is an improvement, and the making of a very nice image. |

This is a really lovely portrait. Terrific detail, and tilt of her head is lovely. Agree with all others, her under-eyes need lightening and eyes brightened. Not sure how to do the lightening. But to brighten; on the last layer, select just the eyes with the Quick Select tool, go to the "Yin/Yang" adjustment tool, to Brighten/Contrast, select Brighten and increase to desired amount. |

Many thanks for your comments. And I agree, it's too blue, and have sent a revised version to Beverly to post (don't know how to do that at this point). I was so happy to hear those comments from you, because I entered six Alaska photos into my local camera club competition recently. I always felt this image was obviously "fixed", yet it got the highest score of all (even more than the moose of last month). So I'm thrilled that some photographers see that it's not quite right. Thank you. |
