Zebras of course make a great subject for any black and white, especially infrared, and they really set the stage here Steve. Then we find the giraffes, great shot. |

Another exceptional shot, Emil. We've got the star of the show in the beautiful foreground tree, supported by the barren forest and winding road, and an iconic sky, to boot. |

We have certainly crossed paths, Henry, I've been here many times!
I like Emil's take as a darker more contrasty image. It's a nice perspective that captures Bodie well. |

Wonderful image, Charles. I think many people would have just shot the trees, but your backing up to include the arch, just makes this.
I've traveled in Asia quite a bit but never been to china, I need to go. |

I especially like the way the shadows cross the road, Arik. It adds complexity to the image. I realize you set this up with the tree framing on the right. To me, this results in the image feeling a little off balance. Most of the interest is on the left. But of course we each see our own crop, our own image, and that's fine. |

The trees curving over the road in the foreground really bring one into the scene, and then we find the bicyclist, it works well Melanie. Nicely done. |

Thanks Emil, and Arik also, I agree and I think Henry's edit accomplishes this. |

Thanks Kieu-Hanh, it must have just been the light, as this is right from the phone, that rendered the wires barely visible. |

Excellent example of a new take on a much photographed scene, it's quite a shot! I can only echo Steve and Sue's comments, no suggestions for improvement. |

This image really displays the importance of good light. It's just a staircase, but rather compelling! Also the depth created by the staircase, there's a 3D quality. |

Good catch on that Steve, it's an interesting question. I'm thinking the trees that made the shadows must have been much bigger, but otherwise I'm stumped. I didn't edit the image.
I notice a fine line that could be the pole shadow…or it might just be a dirt road… |

Steve makes a good point, the same algorithms that can turn harsh midday lighting into something very pleasing, can overdo it a bit in the golden hour.
It's still very nice, and I like the top branches as a kind of frame

This reminds me a little of Steve's image, perfect timing, the ball, captured just right. And the background provides some interesting context. |

I agree with the other comments already posted, Steve, good action shot. I agree with Susan's crop suggestion as to the overhang. And as kieu hanh says getting the ball just at that spot really makes the shot . |
