Coming from Emil's Image to this one is striking, such strong contrast here! Both ends of the spectrum.
I once traveled there to shoot, after seeing images of Shiprock. It's a magical place and you've captured it quite well, so strikingly sharp, nice light, really no suggestions for improvement. |

The softness works so well here, Emil. And I really like your setup with the forest of trees in the distance down below, obscured by haze or fog, there's all kinds of mood in this. Very nice. |

This reminds me of Arik's image, Henry, where I said it needed a subject of some sort. Well, here we have one, but like Charles, I'm having trouble integrating it. Regardless, it's a beautiful setting, I really like the round stones leading me into the scene. |

I think Emil's edit improves this, Charles. The trees do provide bookends as Steve mentions, and it's got a great sky as usual. |

It's a beautiful setting Arik, such nice light and shadows. To me it calls out for "something", anything, a bird, a person, etc perfectly placed, but even so it does evoke a certain mood as others have illuded to. As usual you're toning with a hint of sepia is spot on. |

The tree does have some personality, Melanie. I think it would present better with a bit more contrast, but it's nice even so. |

To Steven't point, did you use a special wide angle lens for this? Or just the phone camera as is? I recall you have shown other wide angle shots as well, the effect is really nice in this one as well. The bridge just makes it feel even wider. Was the bus in motion or stopped? I think the only negative from the bus is the slight greenish tint from the windows perhaps. I really like it and the way the road leads off into the distance on the right. |

It's striking in its detail and sharpness, Bill, and no doubt you had to straighten lines? How much perspective distortion was there? The end result is very well done. |

You've got a nice blurred background, Ruth, and while the petals are reasonably sharp, the center is a little out of focus, or perhaps its just the resolution, but that's to be expected if the flower is as small as you say it is! A wonderful Christmas to you, too. |

The two foreground trees are essential to this, Wayne, being sharper. The resulting image has several layers. To me, it still calls out for a subject, could be anything, a bird, etc. But as so it accomplishes what you intended. |

Great idea and execution, Steven. It's quite compelling! I think Kieu-Hanh is on to something with that crop, it's neater, focuses the attention better. But it could just be one of those with several possibilities for good images. |

Good point, Steven, I agree. I also played with the idea of cutting off the edge of the car, to eliminate the edge being against the edge of the frame. |

Thanks Kieu-Hanh, yes the crop on top works much better, thanks! Perspective, too, I think. Your lines are straight throughout, while the lower ones on mine slant. |
