Thanks Ruth that's a good point about people wanting to know the place. |

Good questions, Kieu-Hanh. It was the graphic elements that attracted me to the scene primarily. Seven circles! Which are balanced and framed by lines. But to me bicycle images always offer a story framework, for the viewer to fill in the rest. The bikes are connected to people, whom we don't see. Here, the big bike and the little bike represent brothers perhaps. This was taken in Cuba, but I didn't mention that as I don't think it's essential to the image. |

Interesting image, Kieu-Hanh. I think Steven would join me in saying, it's a good candidate for black and white, as it has little color, but lots of interesting texture, and graphic qualities like repeating shapes and lines. Also, since it's a tight crop on top, I'm thinking it could be a little tighter on the bottom as well. |

It's an inviting scene, Pat, to be sure. To me, what makes it special is the ladder! There could be another crop where you crop out the globe, to the edge of the bookcase, and that would focus more attention on the latter, but it's fine this way too. The light seems a little harsh on the books in the center, otherwise the light is very nice. |

I love cat pictures, Ruth, they are so photogenic. On this one, another version could be to crop down to just the box itself. Regardless, it's a cute image and it must be fun to find shots like this as you go through your old images. |

I've seen a lot of reflection images, Gene, but this one certainly stands out! It's almost like a mirror, and really adds some 3D to the image. Sure, I wish the rest of the scene wasn't so busy, but it makes for a realistic travel image. |

Nice shot, Wayne, at that time of day, it's hard to go wrong, and I think you're right about the blue tones on the snow. Somewhere along the line you seem to have lost detail or had some degradation in the ocean. It might have been difficult due to the low light and the ship was probably moving.
Resolution doesn't really matter for on screen images, the dots per inch measure was relevant for prints. So images can be saved at the lowest dpi, as in 72, and it won't affect quality. Rather, pixel dimensions is relevant, and it seems images around the 800x800 dimensions will fit into the 1MB or less requirement. I don't use Snapseed much, but others here do, and they can help you with how to export to the proper size, hopefully. |

Macro was one area where phone cameras lagged behind, but images like this are proving that's a thing of the past! Nice job, Steven with beautiful color and light, and a blurred undistracting green background. The hardest thing about shots like this, for me, was there is always a breeze, at least where I live. Was it a calm day in your case? |
