Sorry I'm late palli,
You could take Emil's approach, which is very nice, but I prefer your approach and find the multiple frames in the image add interest. The vignette feels a little heavy upper right, but otherwise I love this. |

Sorry for the late comment this month Gary.
Only things I can add to the other comments are,
I might desaturate the flag just a tag more, and, I love the little cloud and its placement. Very nice. |

Thanks, Emil. It's an interesting take, and I like it, especially in the lily pond (lower) part of it. |

For me, it is the S-curve from your vantage point, Henry, with the lighthouse perfectly placed, that makes this for me. It is one of the better lighthouse images I've seen. You've also got a nice range of tonalities, despite it being a drab day; well done! |

This is much more contrasty than your usual style, Emil. Maybe it was the light. But you've achieved that dark sky in the more typical IR style. It's a nice scene and shows how infrared shines even in harsh mid day light. |

I really like this Charles, but have to admit, I thought the pink was an anomaly, something that needed to be cleaned up. What draws me is the unabashed softness, and in particular the shadows on the road are just wonderful. Very nicely done. |

My personal approach to photography, Arik, is I want to see an image work on the simplest level, I tend not to like the filter effect to be the first thing I notice in an image... (but I realize I'm a contrarian and artistic processing is often the greater part of the image for many). So here, I'm drawn more to the original, and the minimalist feel of the two small people under the expanse of the trees, though I would crop it up from the bottom just a bit to make that effect stronger. |

I have to admit, Melanie, the partial colorization came immediately to my mind also, but I'm torn on it. I find I can look at the scene as being natural colors, with the leaves white, and it kind of works for me! I find it's the shadow on the roof which makes the image for me, mood-wise, especially in the color version. The fence also provides a nice leading line which takes the image a step beyond what we often see in scenes like this; very nice overall. |

Thanks, Palli, I really like your version, as you've managed to get rid of that dull haze in the sky, it pops now, and it all comes together. |

Thanks, Gary. I always appreciate your edits, and in fact try to take them into account when posting an image. I like yours, but it seems the sky pops just a bit more in Palli's. Yes this was a recent trip to Cambodia, some beautiful opportunities for infrared, of which I hope to show more in the future. |

I appreciate your taking the time to propose an edit, Steven. I think the statue lower left helps anchor the image…I have a tendency to set these too close to the edge, but I concur with others this works ok. |

Good comment by Steven about black and white, especially since the current image doesn't have much color, and the graphical qualities would be emphasized in black and white. I like the symmetry, and the repeating shapes and lines. |

Including the Capitol with your fountain gives it a nice sense of place. You've captured a very nice sky also. |

I agree with Steven's comments, Pat. I think maybe rendering this in black and white, with maybe a sepia tint, would fit the subject, and might make the background elements less distracting. |

Looks like a marigold, Ruth, and you've got a little ant in there for good measure. Nice sharpness on the flower, and nice blur on the foliage. |

Hi everyone,
I apologize for the mistake in my previous statement. Actually, it's not the same as the original image. The only aspects I haven't changed are the composition and cropping. I have included the original picture in this reply.
Here are the steps I followed for post-processing in Snapseed:
1. Open the image.
2. Choose the "Look" option and select "Pop."
3. Go to "Tune Image" and increase the brightness
4. Apply the "HDR Scape" effect with a Fine, increase about 15%
5. Apply the "HDR Scape" effect once again
6. Adjust the highlights by decreasing
I hope this clarifies the process. |

Good choice in getting up close, Steven. The image is much more interesting than the original would have been. There is some softness around the edges, however, especially lower. Do you think this is just a limitation of the iPhone camera? Can you tell us a little more about macro mode and how to access it? |
