I have a different reaction than some of the others, Henry. I like that you included the other elements than just the flower, it works as a scene. I think your processing succeeds in making the flower really pop, and the other elements less distracting. |

I've often wanted to take pictures of just clouds and skies, Emil, and you've shown a good approach, by including a bit of land at the bottom. Making this a silhouette works as it doesn't distract from the cloudscape. As we've often mentioned, putting a small white line frame around your image would help, as it is hard to see where the image ends and the black background of the web page begins. |

This tree and your processing really does give it the feeling of a veil, Palli. As the others have said, nicely done. |

Unsurprisingly, I love the softness of this Gary. The people are just right, and it comes together for me. I agree with the other comments about the image not needing the birds. |

I like the implied connection of the falls and the river Charles, although as Gary says there does seem to be a bit too much in between. And although I enjoy the image and it's tranquil mood, I'll be the outlier and disagree with including that little bit of sky, reminds me of the iPhone notch, little bits like that near the borders are distracting, just my interpretation of course. |

I'm seeing a lot of interest and images in ICM lately, but blending with a still shot, not so much, I applaud the creativity and as the others have said, it is quite compelling Arik! |

What a beautiful scene Melanie, I really have nothing to add to the others comments other than this is my favorite of what you've shared here. I like how you've placed the house, and kept some nice whites in what looks like a shady scene. |

Thanks Henry, for some reason while others were shooting people, I was gravitating towards bicycles! I agree with you on that. |

Thanks for visiting out group Debashish. Based on yours and the others comments I was going to try a crop just like yours, I like it! |

Thanks Melanie, yes I think I will redo the crop to allow more room on the right. |

Thanks Gary for picking up on those little things, the horizon, and of course the bikes are too close to the border, missed that! As for contrast I still think I'd lean towards softer on this one but I appreciate your edit! |

It's a favorite place of mine as well Gene. Your image is a little different than the typical shot we see from the viewpoints. I think the sunlight poking through on the mountains in the middle ground becomes the subject here; the rock formations merely frame the scene. The dramatic clouds provide a nice touch as well. |

It's a lovely scene, Kieu Hann. It has elements of a good composition, but on closer examination I'm feeling what Quang says about the fisherman being too close to the right. As to the sky, I think it's fine as it is. Maybe a little off the top, but Steven's version starts to take out some nice color gradients. I probably would have shot this as just a landscape, without the fisherman, but that's just me, he definitely adds an element of interest. |

I'm no stranger to fog out where I live, Pat, so I can identify with this. I think Steven makes a good point in that, maybe it's ok to let a foggy scene be soft, to just go with it. Good idea on cropping the bottom, but otherwise, I might have gone more in the direction of the original. |

Good idea keeping those bits of sink Ruth, it really makes the story. Reminds me of the critters I've had in my house! No snakes yet fortunately. |

The Washington monument is one of those shapes that we all recognize, so a great choice to have a little fun with really simplifying things down. Seeing this, I can only ponder the many possibilities! |

Airports seem to be full of possibilities like this, but yours takes it up a notch Steven. It's quite the compelling scene with color and lines and shapes! |

Thanks Steven, good points about the flag. I think there was a lot of distracting elements if I had included it all, but I appreciate your honest assessment. Maybe just cropping the flag out would be best. |
