Thank you for noticing the old car Gary!
Your version works for me, but leveling the bridge seems to make the horizon sag, to my eye.. |

I was thinking along the same lines as Arik, and his version works just wonderfully for me. The effect of the detail extractor is quite noticeable, and while that often makes especially black and white images more compelling, I am of Ariks thinking in that in infrared, sometimes the mood conveyed is enhanced by the softness inherent in the genre, as in your original, and Ariks version. |

The foreground is so nice, Palli, it almost doesn't even need the distant hill. I see another image cropped down part way into the hill. I like the leading línes created by the boulders, and the light areas you brought out in your edit, nicely done. |

The original is quite nice, Gary, even as is, and I think it would be my favorite, even though I applaud the creativity of the edit. It just says "filter" too much for me, especially the top border. |

I would echo Ariks comments, Charles. This has a nice somber mood, and perhaps a slightly softer contrast is more fitting. It's nicely composed. |

As Gary iludes to, the graphical nature of the window and floor patterns make this a natural for black and white, generally; it's very effective Arik! The people and the detail beyond are a nice bonus. I wish there was just a bit more detail in the right front corner, as the dark area there is larger than that on the left side. |

I concur with Ariks comments Melanie. I like that i can see beyond. It's a beautiful area and this is true to the sense of place. Only minor nitpick, the sky is a little bright for me. Having some darker tones in the clouds would add a little drama, but perhaps is not necessary. |

You had a good vantage point, Kieu-Hanh, resulting in a good journalistic image, which captures a moment. At first I was confused and distracted by the two people at left; it almost looks like a single person, then I noticed the woman is just in front of the man and looking down. It would be nice if you could crop these two out, but that would result in a more narrow image and of course you said, the detail stays, which is fine. |

Good eye Pat, all the elements were there in the original scene, and they come to life in your edit. The curve of the road, that nice line of clouds, the industrial scene, they all come together very nicely. |

The rose covered in ice crystals certainly is attention grabbing Gene. I can see the effects of the tonal contrast and sharpening; maybe a touch more than looks natural, to my eye. Also, I liked seeing some of the foliage in the original, the vignette feels a little heavy in the edit. |

What an interesting study of perspective Quan. I thought I was looking down, but apparently it's just the opposite? I also like the composition and the way the curve grabs my interest. |
