I love when silhouette is used for creative purposes such as this, Nick. We know it's a protest, now that we don't know what they are protesting, we can focus attention on some of the interesting quirky aspects. I kind of wish the lamp post weren't there or so prominent, but let's see what your colleagues think about that. |

Nicely done, Tom. As Wes alludes to, it recalls another time. The lighting is spot on and the touch of sepia from the nik preset works well. |

Thank you, Ian.
I encourage my Group 66 colleagues to check out Ian's image in Group 73 this month, and to comment on other groups' images, it's a lot of fun. |

The bit of contrast makes it more compelling, Palli, an improvement, thanks! |

Something a little different from you, Henry. It's all about the curve for me! I love the ferris wheel, and how it contrasts with and compliments the row of palms, in fact, I had just the opposite reaction to Gary's; I think it comes together just right. The high key works too.
My only regret is the little bit of building on the far right. I wish that could be cropped out, but the way you've set up, that isn't possible without losing other necessary elements. Still, excellent.

This is just lovely, Emil. As images of waterfalls are so abundant, there's a high bar for excellence, and I think you've achieved it here due to the simplicity, there is no unnecessary clutter so common in forest scenes, and the beautiful framing these leaves provide in infrared. |

Like Arik, I think the antique plat can work here, Palli, but for me, the image is the left half of the image. I have a hard time with the stump as the subject, my eye keeps wanting to go across the meadow into the trees beyond. In my crop below the roots of the stump help frame this "second image". |

In my own less imaginative mind, Gary, I'd achieve the eery and unreal purely through stark black and white, but we're all different, of course! As I read over the other comments, the one that most resonates to me is Arik's about the saturation. The over saturation of these colors, plus the texture, starts to steal my attention away from the story of the birds and the windmills. I'm curious, the way the front windmill becomes transparent, was that intentional?
I like the scene, appreciate what you were after, and applaud your creativity as usual. |

I too like the nice strong curve, Charles, accented by the path on the left, and as Gary points out the two kayakers, it all comes together very nicely. |

I agree, I'm glad you left the power lines, Arik. They provide the accent this image needs, the something a little different and interesting. Of course, there is also the one headlamp truck with American flag and grass growing out the top, and while these aren't perhaps highlighted in the way you set up the composition, they are fun to find while the eye roams around. |

This must be from Costa Rica. I love the dappled light, Melanie. And the way the two different types of plants play off each other. It feels like I'm right there, floor of the rainforest. |

When you shoot an image in such beautiful light, Kathryn, you can't go wrong! This must have been very close to sunrise or sunset. Very nice. |

There's a certain texture, or repeating lines to the fog, which is interesting; I initially thought you might had added that. It's a compelling scene to be sure! |

Good point, Ruth. By including the trees I've got all those dark shadows, that need to be opened up. I will try that next time. |

Thanks Steven, I'd agree some cropping from the top to make it more of a paño would work also. |

Thanks gene that's an interesting thought about using tripod, I never really consider it with the phone, even in low light. I wonder what kind of built in protection there is against that if any…my phone pics in low light usually have less motion blur than I'd expect. |

The new colors are really pleasing, Kieu Hanh, and the background is complimentary. I don't have any suggestions for improvement, it's very nicely done. |

Having been taken both at night and while moving, would make this particularly difficult to get sharp. But its nice you were able to capture it and we're able to get the gist of it; that must have been a fun drive. |

Your edit made a big difference on color, Gene. I like the leaves on the black ash, as the foreground. It looks like you might have cropped a bit of sky out, which I agree with. I might have even cropped out more, or cloned some foliage in, as the brightness up top on the edge is distracting, and takes one out of the scene. |

Your iPhone did a great job with this night shot, Steven. The colors and mood created are beautiful, and there are no distracting elements. (You mention it was crowded, but I don't see any people). I'm curious as to how you make the calculation that the 4mm lens is 28mm equivalent? |

I like your idea or challenge, Chan, and you've executed this one beautifully. Very nice light, and your choice for monochrome greatly improves this over the original. The three shadows are a nice accent. The layout of the three objects is just right. |

Were you thinking about or channeling the famous image Migrant Mother by Dorothea Lange? That one's always been a favorite of mine, and yours is beautiful and powerful as well. |
