I love your color IR take on this beautiful place, Henry, which I visited years ago. The combination of the unusual rock formations, and you're just slightly fantasy presentation, make this an otherworldly scene. |

As Charles alluded to, the colorized version is quite nice (is this the original or another version?) I keep going back to it, those tones. As to the black and white, and the composition as a whole, for me, bridges taken from the side don't quite work as well as other perspectives, because we don't have the leading line. So while it's certainly an enjoyable and tranquil setting, I feel like either additional elements, or the color tones of the original, are necessary to take it to another level. |

Your treatment really brings these trees to life, Palli. Great idea, well executed. It feels like a spooky night. |

Thanks, Gary. I could have sworn I had the sky black this time, getting closer! I think it's the whites in Palli's version that make it pop, at least for me. |

I like your version, Palli, the whites were definitely needed! Thanks. |

You're spot on, Melanie; somewhere in between works best for me. I have to admit, my own feels a little "muddy", so I think the whites definitely benefit from a little brightening. |

What a weird image, Gary! (in a good way). After reading your description, I found myself wanting to know more about this scene, but I think that just adds to the strangeness and mystery. Seeing people wandering along a path that doesn't come from or lead anywhere, is certainly different. Not seeing a castle (unless that wall is it) adds to the mystery, and I would actually prefer that be left out of the title. I think this is a great example of how dark skies and high contrast add mood to an infrared image. |

I really like the blue tint to the foliage, Charles, different from what we usually see and expect. For me, images like this work best with the pigeon as a secondary subject, an accent, rather than the main subject. My first impression was that you might have added the pigeon, which of course you didn't. Even so there's lot to enjoy here in this scene. |

I love scenes like this, Arik, and have been wanting to take a Montana road trip. For me, finding the little hut on the left was a "yes!" moment, it makes the image for me! There's a great sense of place, in addition to the sky, I love the beat up condition of the main house, and how the secondary house is cut off; wonderful scene. |

I second all the other comments, Melanie. What makes graphical images like this work especially well, is no distracting elements. I love all the curves. In addition to the tilt pointed out, there is a little blur spot far right, and reflection on the slight, that are slight distractions. |

Thanks for checking, Steve. I think the 829x768 dimensions should be enough for a sharp image on this website. I notice the file size is only 206kb, so I think there was quite a bit of compression of the file in the exporting process. A color image of this dimension should be at least 636 kb and likely higher. Unfortunately, not all programs give as much info as LR. I think exports that set a certain dimension and don't compress the image are best. |

How fun is that! Great idea Steven, I think it does work well in black and white. |

Kieu-Hanh I think both yours and stevens suggested crops are both much improved! Though a small change, I now appreciate the image much more. And despite the red bandanna, this one might work well in black and white too. |

Definitely keeping with the season, Pat, but as Steven says, the horseman perhaps aren't prominent enough, I think this could be finessed to bring them out more. It's a very creative idea, I do think you're on to something! |

Thank you Quang. I think the sharpness issue you refer to is (similar to Ruth's image) more a function of the image preparation for posting, than camera sharpness. I will work on that for next month. |

Thank you for your insightful comments, Steven. I agree with you about the man on the right edge; the difficulties in setting up for a shot quickly! |

Thank you Pat. That's actually a lake in the background, looking more like a pond these days due to our ongoing drought I'm afraid.... |

Another enjoyable one in your series, Ruth, I can only echo the other comments. I think regarding sharpness, part of this is just the cropping and resizing of the image. Is it an older iPhone? If so, after the crop you made, the image just doesn't have the resolution to render sharp on our screens. |

It's a nice travel photo, Gene, but I think my personal preference would have been to zoom or crop in to just the reflection part and make it more of an abstract, there's some interesting patterns and colors in that part. Even so, I'm interested in Ruth's question, if you changed the sky in the reflection too, as it appears natural, that's very good! |

I agree with the other comments, Quang; nice composition, the color of the sky is just beautiful. My initial impression was that it was a blend of two images you took. Having it be an app texture is ok, but like you said perhaps the effect needs to be reduced a little. |

Welcome again, Steven. This is not only a nice product shot, sharp, descriptive, it also has the photographically pleasing property of repeating lines; very nice overall. I'm fine with the tone of the cauliflower, it's fairly natural, but it is a little uneven, perhaps due to over adjusted as you mention. |
