Much improved, Arik! Even though there is still more blue on the right, it now feels like shadow, and the light on the right feels like sunlight (or moonlight) |

I like the composition, Henry, you've made an ordinary scene feel special. What I especially like is the little bit of ocean, which totally changes the way I perceive the house.
My own taste would have been a more traditional rendering of the colors; or, even if I kept the sky blue, having the foliage bright white, such as in Charles' image, but that's just my personal preference. |

I think Gary's on to something here, Emil, his crop leaves you with a very nice graphical image of repeating lines, shapes and curves; it's very enjoyable.
It's more contrasty than you usually do, and with the ferns I would perhaps prefer a softer, dreamier feel, but that's just me. |

I enjoy the graphic qualities in your images, Palli. Here, my eye went right to the most distant line of light poles, and how the line they form plays off the other lines in the image; the bridge, power poles, and the railing at the bottom. For that reason, I'm not a fan of your tighter crop, as the top light poles are lost. Nice job Palli, your images are always a treat. |

I'm seeing the "lazy nights of summer" Gary, that's weird about me, I think I had that response last month too. Regardless, I agree with Palli there's a real sense of mood here, to me it's a combination of lazy and eery. As Arik points out, you have a real style for these kind of images; a walk on the dark side. |

Framing an image with trees adds a special dimension in infrared, and it makes your image special, Charles. Nicely done. |

You've doubled down on the "looks like snow" character of infrared scenes, Arik, I very much enjoy it and think the work you put into it is a success. I agree with you and Gary that the blue could use some finessing. While I think overall it adds to the image, either more of a gradient across the image, or slightly less blue overall, would improve. |

So much to enjoy here, Melanie. There's the arch down below, but then I love the way the tree branches render up top. It has such a nice feel to it as others have mentioned.
Although I like that the subject is slightly offset, the left side of it detracts just a bit, I would consider a slight crop on the left, or maybe it's what looks like a pole that might be removed, as everything else in the image is so natural. |

Thanks, Gary. It's interesting how we all have different interpretations of "gloomy" or "stormy"! After seeing yours an Palli's, I agree the sky could be a bit darker. As to the vines, yours is too well defined for me. I like the way infrared confers a kind of dreamy blur, and prefer that look and feel in mine. Thanks for taking the time! |

Thanks Pat, I agree, I couldn't find the pink either.
And while I appreciate Quangs take, I find I need the little plant to anchor, as Kieu Hann says. |

This must have been quite an experience, Kieu-Hanh! The part you've shown us has lots to enjoy, and points out the usefulness of phone cameras in the "no camera" environment. |

Thank you for weighing into our group, Marti. I see your point and perhaps just a bit more contrast to the marks on the left (just gradations in the sand, not footprints) would help them be a tad more prominent.
I encourage our members to check out the other groups from time to time, you will find some great images and can hone your commenting skills. |

I think the sentiment that Bob is tapping into is that feel that an image needs to be "grounded". In that sense, I agree with him, but don't think the image needs to be pushed, rather I think having the houses makes it a kind of everyday life image that happens to have a great sky, and for me is enjoyable. |

I remember this spot well, Gene, nicely rendered. I don't have any suggestions for improvement, other than I think the sky is OK as is, it adds a certain mood. |

I agree with the others there is a certain crispness or sharpness that works very well here. These newer iPhone cameras are quite good!
Though no one else mentioned it, there are some dark spots on the clouds near the horizon in the center of the image that don't look right. It doesn't appear to be editing as they're on the original as well. I wonder if you have any thoughts on this. |

Bob, I'm guessing this is the newer pano mode on the iPhone 13 (which I haven't tried yet) as my old panos always had a weird curve to them, this looks very natural.
For me, the greatest interest are the reflections just below the house. Coupled with the girl, I don't think the image needs to extend way out to the boats, rather, a tighter crop might be more effective. |
