Good point Melanie I see that leaving just a sliver of sky acts to frame it and refocus attention on the village. |

Thanks Charles and thanks for taking the time to comment this month even though you did not submit an image yourself. |

Subtle adjustments, as you say Palli, but it does make an improvement, thanks! |

Thank you Henry, I think your version improves, especially the overall darkening. |

A beautiful scene so perfectly rendered, Henry. It has the look and feel of a straight black and white, except for the trees of course. An extremely pleasing composition with somber mood, no recommendations for improvement. |

That curve in the road is priceless, Emil! What a great vantage point, everything just comes together. The "stripes" in the road at left, add to the leading lines effect. I think yours and Garys edits both make great images, and while yours is the less common, it resonates more with me. |

Points for originality, Palli, I can see what you were after, it's unusual and interesting. Gary has a good point, and his edit improves. To me, the placement of the cloud isn't quite right, it forms a tangent with the trunk. But I love the black sky and can feel what you were trying to convey. |

Composed like a pro, as usual Gary. I love the way the gazebo and fountain play off each other. I love the reflections, and the tonalities accross the image are sumptuous. |

I'm seeing an older image with the caption for my current one, so, Pallis comments notwithstanding, it's either an issue with my browser, or might be addressed by Melanie. |

I love this Arik. I can see Gary's point in that the house almost looks "cute", the image is so well done I can get past that. I like that you darkened the tree trunks, and the bit of foliage at the base is a bonus. Everything about this image shows the thought that was out into it.
"Highest marks"
Minor note: there seems to be a little bit of a structure showing through in the center of the image which might be distracting to some, |

Great detail on this, Melanie, especially the foreground. The haphazard perpendicular siding of the old structures is also great.
Can't wait to see your badlands images too. |

I think your presentation of this artwork is enhanced by the two bare trees/branches, and the beautiful sky, Kieu-Hanh. I like that you left the colors pastel like, rather than over contrasty. |

This is a nice shot, Pat, in fact,I like the original better. I'm attracted to the repeated flags and their shadows, blowing in the breeze, and the Easter egg spring sky. If one could eliminate the second bare tree it would be even stronger.
I see what you're after with the night editing, and that's fine too. I look forward to seeing what the others think. |

Looks like a marigold, Ruth.
Nice clean undistracting background. Nice sharpness on the flower, and you even have an ant in there. |

Gene, I'm also struck by the lines, symmetry, and patterns. Plus, some nice light. Airports seem to have a surprising amount of photography opportunities. |

It's beautiful, Belinda. The blur looks like a vignette blur and quite pleasing, at first, but when I notice the stem is blurry, even towards the center, that does present a little bit of a problem. I think what was needed here was a focus stack, in other words, taking another image or two with the stems sharp and blending them in photoshop.
All that said, I do like the image, kind of like Bob's it's ephemeral and dreamy, nicely done overall. |

Intentional camera movement and produce all kinds of creative results, and having the option within an iPhone app makes it accesible to those of us who might have found it daunting. You've chosen a great scene for this, Bob, it renders very dream like; you even have the light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks for sharing. |
