Interestingly, the first though I had upon viewing this Emil, is, "I wonder if it's flipped". Here, I'll go with your first impression, preferring the original. But either way, the opening and path seem to take me out of the scene. Maybe that's just me as no one else has picked up on it, but I would have preferred the mausoleum closer to the center perhaps. Also I think a bit of edge burning or vignette would improve this. But even so, I'm a fan of cemetery photography also, and find this very enjoyable. |

Including a person in the scene, has the effect of the eye going right there, and in this image it works very well, Palli, as Arik said especially having her near the end of the path. There are also little details like her lean, and that she appears older. And I'm always a fan of leaves on a path. Very nice. |

Gary, I also had the initial "too bright" impression, but then it really grows on me. It's almost as if the brightness combined with the vignette has the effect of getting me to buy into the old, 19th century image, and with the touch of sepia it all comes together very well! |

It's said that if you're going to photograph another's art, you must put your own touch on it, and you've certainly done that here, adding some humor. The scene's a natural for infrared. |

Interpreting scenes like this really hones one's composition skills, as you've shown here. The fork on top, and the white trunk center, make this for me. I think I could have done without the warming, but it's enjoyable either way. |

I also love the distant light in this classic scene, Melanie. You've brightened up the center by the mitten quite a bit, I might have done just a little less, but its no biggie. Very nice. |

Thanks Arik, I too often use the effect as a built in "center lighting" effect. At wider apertures, say f6.3 or lower, the effect diminishes on most lenses. |

Thanks Gary, we two often show how two people can interpret the same scene with vastly different results. When I get home I will take a few steps in the direction of yours but probably still settle on something in between the two. |

Thanks Kieu-Hanh, I appreciate the point about leaving the small plants on the ground. |

Thanks Gene, I think the banding is due to running the jpeg through the various filters. I have read about using raw from iPhone images, I think that's possible and will look into that, although I usually take an additional image with my other camera for use of raw and printing, etc. Good points on cleaning this up a bit. |

I like that you've replaced the busy background, Kieu-Hanh, and you did a great job with the software to execute that. As far as the choice of background, I'm unsure about that, it's interesting color and patterns might "steal the show" from your main subject, the teapot. I will be interested to see what the others think. |

The result is just wonderful, Pat, so creative! The colors just make it pop. You've turned an ordinary cityscape into something fun and interesting. |

I love the wide open spaces, too, Ruth! And I'm often tempted to crop up above all the clutter, like you did. It's a beautiful cloud with a peaceful mood. I'm glad you kept it kind of soft, natural looking, though you could probably punch it up a tad (contrast) and that would work too. |

I just love the color, Gene. And that reflection on the water is beautiful. As so often happens with dawn or dusk light, the land tends to go dark. For me, this image would be best suited for creative uses, such as replacing the land piece with something more interesting, or using the sky or water parts as a background or component in another image. |

What a creative idea, Belinda! I'm left wondering whether it's some kind of clothing or just fabric, but that's ok. I do like it a little better without the far left leaf. |
