That's a good point, Albert, which I appreciate, thanks. |

Not only the repeating chimneys, but the repeating power lines, windows, roof lines, etc. Even the consistency in the faint cloud patterns contributes to this. I like the graphical style some of your recent images have been tending to Jen, very nice. |

I like the two layers in this, the separation of the background trees, it's not as evident in the color version, but in the black and white, the effect adds depth to the image. And you can't go wrong with those frosted trees of course, makes for a lovely winter scene. |

Very nice, Ed. It looks like carefully executed composition. I love the mimicry in the distant trees, and that curve in the horizon just makes this for me. The lovely sky is a bonus. The nitpick would be, you have an even number of horses ;) but no biggie of course.
I'm also using my iPhone camera more, especially for mid day shots, as the built in algorithms render a finished product so much easier than having to edit them manually. |

I know that neighborhood well, John, nice environmental portrait. I like the way the freckles render in black and white, they humanize him. I do have a pet peeve about sunglasses though, as not seeing the eyes seems to make people less human. But I give you lots of credit for engaging him and getting the photo, you probably didn't want to impose too much. Nicely done. |

Just lovely, Emil, my kind of scene! What makes this for me are the clouds. I've always liked the way a wide angle lens makes cloud lines diverge, the effect makes an image more dynamic. I can just feel the movement of the clouds here. The rest of the scene just falls into place. Once again, I'm partial to your softer style, works for me, though I can appreciate Gary's edit also. |

Though at first I was tempted to call for a tighter crop, like Emil and Charles, I like the way my eye zigzags back into the image, it's very effective! Vertical landscapes can be hard to pull off, not just the composition, but maintaining focus throughout. I've ended up with foreground blur on some, and I like that you paid attention to that, it's sharp throughout, well done Gary. |

This reminded me a bit of your October image, Charles, looks like the same stream, but a different composition. Again here I like the way the stream provides a leading line, and the use of the blue, both in the sky and in the stream itself, is very effective. You've achieved beautiful whites on the leaves. |

Very interesting image, Ernie, well laid out with him entering the frame from lower left corner. I agree with Gary's comments and edit, I think that makes it all the more effective, we'll done! |

I agree with you on barns, Melanie, and am a fan of yours! There's a nice feeling of whimsy here, and an interesting presentation of the barn tucked off to the right. I might have cropped just a little off the left, but I get what you were after, and appreciate it just the same. Very nice. |
