Very nice, Jen. I like the contrasty presentation of it, and prefer it with the bottom 1/4 or so cropped out, so it becomes a bit more abstract. |

Not much to add, Albert, from the other comments. I agree it is the detail in the snow that makes this, combined with the beautiful wind blown clouds and sky. It feels like it needs to be flipped, but maybe that is from looking at so many images like this in the northern hemisphere ;) Nice. |

A beautiful image with nice detail, Don, in which there lie many more possibilities. My only comment would be to perhaps increase the whites a little bit. |

Great portrait, Adrian. As an environmental portrait, it already has great potential, but perhaps a little more context to tell the story, ie, something more to tell me she's an engineer trainee, beyond the hints we already have. As a straight portrait, this is also very good, and there could be a take on it cropped in a bit closer, as you have the beautiful backlit hair, the smudginess of her face, and the cap, all excellent. |

I will concur with some of the other comments, in that this is an interesting image which might benefit from a bit more space, a bit less noise, and the sky going completely dark. Thanks for sharing, Ed. |

The tonalities in the tubes are just excellent, John! They are my favorite part of the image. Beyond that, I'm feeling that if I shot this, I might have tried for a shot perpendicular to the scene - which is sometimes advised against for being too static, but here, might have made the image more about the patterns and tonalities...but overall, a very interesting scene, well presented in black and white.

Thank you Adrian, love your enthusiasm!
I like the flip you did, very helpful.
I went with the close crop because I was trying to make more noticeable little details I liked such as the table with one chair pushed over, the open shutters on the dormer window, and the multiple rows of windows overall. Sometimes it's hard to bring it all together in one image, and this might be one of those. Thanks again for your comments and welcome to the group. |

I agree with the others comments that a bit more contrast might add some needed drama here. With the absence of a point of interest, or a place for the eye to land, the clouds for me become the dominant subject, with their beautiful repeating shapes as clouds often do. |

Something different from you, Palli. What fun, I love the idea, and you've presented this very well! It's an interesting abstract to ponder, with great tones, repeating shapes and lines. |

I love the barn Gary and the scene you've presented. The procession has resulted in a lighter area in he sky right above the barn, which detracts a little for me, because it is of similar tone to the barn itself. I know IR can be very forgiving of midday light, but I am wondering if taking this scene in better light would have made a difference, something that might not have been possible if you were just driving through. The processing does work very well on the tree, however. |

Classic composition Charles with the curve of the river leading in to the slant of the mountains and that beautiful sky. I agree with you about that one cloud, I scratched my head about that too, but it's probably ok either way. Very nice image. |

I would have to echo Melanie's comments entirely Ernie. I'm highly impressed by the tonalities you've managed to bring out, the textures, just beautiful and so well done. Even the slanting black line which my mind wants to see as horizontal still works, just adds to the edginess of this. Unfortunately the sky looks like it was added in, and detracts from the gritty reality of the rest of the image. |

We were thinking along the same lines this month! Lovely scene, Iespecially like the hole in the roof. I prefer your version to Garys, partly because the center lighting / vignette seems a little strong, and gets even stronger and more noticeable in Gary's version (Charles picks up on this indirectly with his comment about the cloud). But overall, very enjoyable Melanie and a great choice for IR. |

Thanks Pali yes I agree your version improves. Despite having added quite a bit of contrast myself, I notice the center still looks pale, and in need of a bit more contrast. |

Thanks Charles yes I think my conversion was the 850nm, ie, strong black and white. |
