Very nice presentation of the windmill, Jen, and overall mood to the scene. There's just enough detail in the clouds to add interest. I tend to agree with John about cropping in just a tad closer, from the bottom left, as there isn't as much of interest in the foreground grass. But very nice image overall. |

I agree with Johns comment about cropping just a bit off the left side, Albert, as this would help focus attention on the interaction between mother and newborn, which is the subject of the image. Otherwise it's a nice nature image, well presented with good sharpness. |

Lots to love about this image, Don! I also had the first impression of Japan. The reflection, the repeating piers, he strong shape of the gazebo, the haze giving a sense of distance - it's exceptionally well composed, no suggestions for improvement. |

I second Johns comments, Ed, very nice. The clouds draping in front make the image, and the distant mountains at left provide a necessary balance. It's well processed with enough detail and contrast, for me. |

Nice environmental portrait John.
A couple of minor points: first, I would have liked to have seen more detail in his face. It seems perhaps as if your focal point was the tip of the sword rather than his face. The difficulties of portraiture, getting everything sharp at a wide enough aperture to get sufficient shutter speed! Or perhaps it was the post processing that lost some of the detail in his face. Also, even with the sepia it still seems to have a blue tint. I'd father a more traditional black and white with just a touch of sepia perhaps.
But overall, I do find it an enjoyable portrait. |

Classic to be sure! THe original is also jaw dropping in my opinion. I partly wish the arch stood out more in the black and white, but even so this is quite compelling and I really can't offer any suggestions for improvement. |

Strong composition Palli. You've placed the tip of this interesting building just right, the flip works great. He lines and repeating shapes created y the stairs and railing at the bottom are a nice compliment, resulting in a strong graphical image overall. I like the way in he building you have strong black and white tones. |

Wow, some great images this month! The is laid out and presented like a pro, Gary. The tones are just wonderful, and the composition is one of those that you can wander around for a time and find more and more to enjoy. No suggestion for improvement. |

Lovely as usual, Charles.
It has a certain wonderland feel, as ir images often do. For me, I'd like the sky less saturated, and the whites a little punchier. The latter would invoke the inevitable feeling of snow, which is perhaps unavoidable in a scene like this. That curve is certainly and great compositional element! |

Very well done, Ernie. There's a certain edginess to this provided by the cloud reflections. I like a Gary's crop of just a little less on the bottom. I could also see his done without any of the bottom, that might leave the viewer scratching his head even more. Great contrast, compelling image. |

I love the cypress trees, Melanie, the weeping branches provide repeating lines, as do the trunks. Lots of nice contrast in the trunks, I find your version works well for me. Funny, this is one of those that I like more as a thumbnail - once I see it larger, I start to notice the busy-ness of the background as you point out. Still, it's very enjoyable, different, and well seen and presented. |

Thank you Gary, and Palli. I definitely agree, that bringing out the detail on the leaves like you did improves this. I will work on that. |
