I would second Johns great comments Jen.
I see what you were after with the texture of the wood, and I think, like many images, this would benefit from a closer crop. The foreground grass, fence and shed are all interesting. |

I find this an interesting image with great detail that tells a story, one of those stories that's up to the viewer to determine. They could well be friends I think, sometimes good friends are content to sit in silence or people watch or even stare off in opposite directions;) it's a nice moment in time, a little unsettling, but still interesting. |

What makes this for me, is the diagonal created by split between the foreground and background rocks. I agree with John about not being sure about the rock lower left, the image may be better without it. Very nice job overall Don. |

Thanks, John. Given your comment, I think maybe I might give this a less specific name, so that the viewer might form their own impression, without being influenced by my title..... |

Another very elegant plant image, Sharon, with great detail and contrast. I might suggest you brighten the whites just a bit more. The image has a darkness which feels a bit "heavy", but you may be after a somber mood. You've blurred the background nicely, but there seems to be a candle or something similar, visible near the bottom which distracts me just a bit, because it's identifiable. Still, very nice image. |

The reflection of his head really makes this a unique image, Ed. The snake ends up looking larger than life, and I wouldn't have known it was a snake without having been informed. The head and eyes are sharp, nicely done. I will have to show you a rattlesnake picture I have sometime. ;) |

Great idea, John. Having the mural behind makes for an interesting shot. I agree with you about the glasses. It's a natural subject for black and white, though, and I think you've executed it well. Whenever I'm in need of a wider lens, I pull out my iphone; sometimes you might get a keeper that way ;) |

What a classic scene Emil! It's beautiful, and I think the softness works well here. The muted colors contribute to this feel, making it feel plausible yet surreal at the same time, much like the others of this genre that you've posted. The end result is quite beautiful. The only suggestions I would have would be to perhaps edge burn the top, just a bit, as having the brightest part of the image at the edge, has the effect of taking one out of the scene; and secondly, the green upper left is ok, but would work better if there were a way to balance it in the scene, perhaps some slight green toning of a tree or trees to the right; not sure how difficult that would be given the processing.
But even as is, I find it very enjoyable. |

Well, this is certainly unexpected, Palli! Good for you. Your original does work for me, because of the tree trunks - it seems like the leaves have been made less noticeable by the filter, and we're left with the gathering of tree trunks which is kind of nice.
But I do like Gary's take on this even more, what a nice composition he's come up with from within your image! That's the fun part of this group. Thanks for sharing.

You've definitely achieved the mood, Gary, with the toning and the enhancement of the clouds -- it's come a long way from the original! The vignette and center lighting also contributes. I agree with Melanie's comment about a little being taken off the bottom. |

I like the simple elegance of his Charles. I favor Gary's suggestion, and would consider perhaps cropping some of the reflection out so that it's not 50/50 as Gary points out. Otherwise, very nicely done. I like the high contrast and rich tones. |

Another image with great graphic qualities Ernie, repeating lines and shapes. I think the composition is just wonderful, and the processing also works, good contrast! The only minor suggestion, I'm wanting symmetry, and the two main poles are a little off, it needs a slight rotation counterclockwise. |

I love this, Melanie, especially the way you've presented the rectangular fence, it's a great graphic element, and the beautiful shadows in front of the fence, with the light area behind. The tree arch is the cherry on top, although I agree with Charles comment about that coming up just a bit short. It's only noticeable because everything else in the image is just right. |
