You certainly achieved a very creepy portrait, Jen. I can see that it needs to be dark, but perhaps its just a bit too dark, too shadowy on his face. It's fun though and one of those images that depends on how much you want to give away on the title; it could be taken in other directions by the viewer. |

A crop of just a little off the top, works better for me. (to about the tree line). As it is, it kind of takes me out of the image, and the person, who is important for scale, is too easily missed. The darkness at the bottom of the image also makes him hard to find. A little shadows adjustment to bring that part out would improve this very interesting image. |

Other than a thin white line to delineate the frame, I think it's fine, and the emptiness around him kind of adds to the weirdness of the image, if that's what you're after. If you were going for more of a nature shot, then perhaps some context is in order, but fun, either way. |

I agree that the black and white works well in helping bring out the lovely detail here Sharon. If you took a set of images, you might take a look at different crop possibilities. There is a bit of "the kitchen sink" problem with busy-ness for me in this. Though I tend to have a "less is more" bias, I would be tempted to try an image just about the worn piece of leather, left, or the rope, upper right, whose circular shape is compelling. There are lots of interesting parts to this, and I kind of see what you were after. |

Travel sure does bring out our commonality, doesn't it Ed? I like your "moment in time" images, but as John says, the photo journalism aspect of this image would have benefited from a tighter crop / longer lens etc. The backdrop is beautiful in and of itself, but the image ends up trying to do two things at the same time. It still works to some degree, and is interesting and enjoyable. |

The possibilities seem endless, Emil, in how to colorize an image, and I don't have the experience in this to make any suggestions, other than to say I enjoy these and find them very interesting. Compositionally, I'm wanting to see the truck just to the left of the tree trunk for some reason, though I know that was impossible. Perhaps if you took a set and have versions from a slightly different angle that would please me more, but that's just me. |

Thanks for confirming for me Palli, that leaves don't have to be green, to be rendered white in infrared. I find I like the top half of the image more, where the three diverging branches provide a bit more graphical interest. |

Very well done, Gary. The big sky, the horses coming into the scene, conveys a great mood of the old American west. After seeing the original, I do prefer a softer rendition of at least the horses - the typical smoothed waxy appearance of animals or people that IR gives works really well here - though I do like the contrast you've achieved in the sky. |

This one is definitely of my style, Melanie. I love moody, somber scenes like this, where the IR adds a winter-snow like effect. I do agree with the others in that it feels a little less than sharp, and the sky could use even the slightest amount of detail, something that could probably be brought out in post processing as discussed. |

I like the shape of the driftwood, Ernie; well seen and composed. The different tone and texture of the part on the left side also works well. I'm not sure about the dark shadow on the right; look forward to the thoughts of others on that. Also the two spots in the sand on top make for some very interesting eyes! But they do take me away from the subject of the image, the driftwood. |
