This is great, Jen! I have attempted scenes like this also. I love the repeating shapes and lines, the diffuse light, the people help with a sense of scale, and the eye is lead to the street beyond. The only improvement I might attempt would be a touch more contrast, but that's up to one's style. |

I agree with the others, in that a little darker, a little more contrast, and a bit more DOF might improve what is already a very nice landscape.
I too like skies like this. Vertical landscapes are somewhat unusual, and can be difficult to pull off, but in this case the image flows very well across the layers.
Depending on how close you were to the foreground flowers, it may not have been possible to get the whole scene sharp with any aperture. It might have been necessary to bracket, or if you were further away, use a longer lens which compresses the image. |

You certainly have a skill for these, Darrell. Excellent technique as usual, I can't offer any suggestions for improvement. |

Along the lines of what the others are saying, I think the image feels like it wants more contrast, given the one dark object and rest of the scene lighter. I would darken the cross piece more and lighten the rest. Also, a vignette might be a good idea.
I like the concept of the image, works well for me. |

I like your composition and treatment, Palli.
I have a bias for closer crops, and would suggest cropping down from the upper right hand corner, to focus attention on the lower and left side of the image, which is quite lovely, with the branch leading one in, and the very nice reflection. Good contrast, and I like the warm tones. |

The one's more of my style, very nice, Gary. I think the vine going up the center of the barn is what makes this, and there are probably multiple crops, images within the image. But even wide like this, it works, with the two darker buildings on the left and right borders serving to bookend the image. You might want to play around with vignettes, or even just edge burning top and bottom, which might further improve this. |

I agree, it makes a great abstract. The only suggestion I would offer, is a closer crop, to feature the reflection even more. Very nice. |

I like the composition, Nathan. However, I feel the kayaks are the subject, and the area of interest, and that including the line of trees under the bridge at top, draws my eye up there, splitting the image. Partial color infrareds are new to me, so I don't have anything to add to the processing at this time, but very interesting and enjoyable image. |

Very interesting and creative composition and use of color. The complementary nature of the blue and orange works for me. I like the mood created. It's also not quite symmetric which adds a touch of tension. |

Thanks Gary, I agree and get what you are after, like very much like your edit and will work on taking it that way. |

Thanks Nathan!
Funny about contrast, no matter how much you add, there's always room for a little more. You're right, yours is a bit "pushed" for my taste, but there's definitely room to push mine a little more. Thanks for the idea. |
