It's a bit of a rule breaker - two people with heir backs to us, but rules were meant to be broken, right?
The way you've placed the two people and the item on the beach in a triangle, adds a graphic quality to this image, and on that level it works for me. |

Jen, I will check the file size when I get back to my computer, as it does look a bit soft on the sharpness.
Otherwise, it's a very nicely done landscape. I particularly like the haze on the upper left, it adds depth, gives a sense of distance or 3D. |

I confess I'm sympathetic to John's thinking, although I don't really mind if an image has been created from composites or in photoshop, as long its obvious it's an artistic image I'm viewing, and not a journalistic or documentary one (which airshows usually are).
Regardless you've created a dramatic image, well executed. I'm a little on the fence on the low key, it if that's your style then I think hats fine. |

The sky steals the show, very dramatic. One might argue a less dramatic sky would leave more of the emphasis on the lighthouse. The strip of light in front of the lighthouse works very well. |

I can only echo the other comments, great originality, and technically excellent as usual. The angle of the instrument, the three appendages, the composition was well thought out and executed. |

Thanks Ricky, great contribution, the low key adds a certain moodiness to the image.
I think your edit demonstrates why global adjustments or one click edits sometimes don't do justice to a scene. Nicely done. |

Ed as usual you have quite the eye for composition, I really like the placement of the swing. Although the cool tones and low contrast of this do lend a certain moody feel, I think that as shot it doesn't necessarily lend itself to black and white-- see how the path contrasts with the grass in color, but not in black and white, for example.
Perhaps a closer crop, which might bring out more the surf and clouds, while reducing the brush on the left, might be beneficial. Or even a local adjustment to bring out the white tones along the path.
Thanks for sharing a well seen scene, |

Thanks Ed, I appreciate your comments, and agree with you, maybe I will try the original in black and white. |

Oh, maybe that's sky then. Very top, center. |

I like the composition, although I'm not sure about the centering...the reflection is also centered. Sometimes a little more tension can be introduced by either showing more or less of the reflection, rather than having it be symmetric, personal choice. On this image also, I prefer a slight crop on the top, removing the sky and rendering the reflection off center, just my take, it it's lovely as is also. |

An image similar to my own style, and you've got great tonalities and contrast, very nice. The only thing that would improve this, for me, would be cropping down just a tad, to remove the bare area of land at the top, which distracts and takes me out of the scene. |

Beautiful image nicely composed. But for me the processing feels too noticeable, to heavy handed. A subtler touch on the brightening of the tree, and if the Dunes weren't so dark, would make the image feel more natural. Natural might not be your goal however. You have certainly accentuated the white leaves which IR gives us... maybe if the light didn't extend to the ground, that would work better for me. |

Interesting result, Nathan. I have playe around with this effect myself in black and white (where it's a lot easier). An alternative is to only partially saturate the color, it produces a subtler effect and can also be very nice. Nice image. |
