This is just great, Jen. That foreground wall is just perfect for black and white of course, and you've implemented it in a city scape, perfectly composed, and controlled, with no distractions. It's also a great example of finding a great scene, and waiting for someone interesting to walk into it, which is a lot easier said than done. Here, he's just an average man, yet he works perfectly. Way to go. |

A great nature shot, which is a natural for black and white, give the tonality of the birds. The water / spray, lower left, is what makes this for me. Towards the top, the tonalities get kind of muddy, and I might consider cropping down, unless this is sized to an eventual print of course. |

Fascinating Darrell!
One thing I'm noticing is the different tonality of the globe vs the rest of the scene. Is this intentional? There's a sepia to the scene, with the globe black and white. Can't help but want to see this with the globe being the earth, but of course would be hard to take that! ;)
Very creative and exceptionally done. |

A classic composition, made for me by the line extending from the lower right corner up around to the left. Without that, I'd say there's too much grass, which seems hard to render in black and white. But as such it works, and the lovely sky is a bonus. |

I agree with Darrell's comments. The high contrast works well for a graphic shot like this. The object at the left border doesn't fit too well, maybe darkening it would help. I would also crop down from the top just a bit to remove the hanging part. |

Thanks Darrell, it's all sand. It's interesting how taking a scene without sky makes for such a different, more ethereal result. |

The use of window lighting works very nicely. It's a lovely holiday arrangement. For me, I'm finding I want to get in closer, even if that means cropping into the arrangement at points, but that's just a personal preference. Very nicely done. |

While I enjoy both, I do find the one with the metal texture preferable, for the added texture. It's very creative, and don't think I have any suggestions for improvement. |

What a great excercise in composition; a thoroughly enjoyable abstract.
I'm not sure about the jagged edge-- it feels like it wants to be a frame, but it's not of course, makes the image a bit off balance to me, but only slightly detracts from my enjoyment of it. |

I agree with Murphys comments, like the one shown. I especially like the way the protrusion goes to the left, and is balanced by the background leaf on the right. The sharpness of the stamens etc, the protrusion, is quite impressive. I guess this is where the 68 shot focus stack came in? Or was that on one of the others? Very nice. |
