Hi Barbara,
Great, great image - horror film quality. Adding the grain enhances that effect as I see it.
To me, this would make a great image for a book on abandoned homes - as I see gallery quality.
Great Catch - I hope we might see more like it in the future.
Thank you very much for sharing it with us. |

Hi Albert,
I do not usually read what others have said before making my own comments. I did this time and I agree with all that was said.
The only thing I might change would be to make the eye a little brighter. You caught the glint nicely but the rest of the eye is shrouded in shadow, a tad bit brighter would, to my eye, make the eye and the glint a little more prominent. Other than that it is a wonderful shot truly once in a lifetime.

Hi Kirsti,
I like this image a lot (failed to really see the lines you mentioned), I found it wonderfully creative. To me it is evocative of a negative of a shot of a full moon surrounded by swirling clouds.
Adding the noise also gives the image a softer appearance that helps with the appearance of mist moving across the moon.
No recommendations - a lovely image, thank you for sharing it with us. |

Hi Robert,
I like the white on black motif.
The way I see it the barely visible clouds in your version leave me wondering what I am really seeing taking my attention away from the white building. Also for the light had me wondering what it was until I saw the changes Doug made where the lights support is visible..
My recommendation would be to try toning down the white of the structure to give it more contrast, and either lighten the sky enough to bring out the clouds (similar to what Doug did) or darken the sky enough to make them go away.
All in all a very artistic and imaginative image, thank you for sharing it with us. |

Hi Doug,
All the others said is spot on to my eye. The bokeh is very good as well.
My thought is that the tonality of Scott is so close to the tonality of the background that he sort of become part of the background. I think an improvement (at least as I see it) would be to darken the background to give him more prominence.
A very nice portrait Doug, thank you for sharing it with us. |
