Hi Barbara, normally I would have preferred to see the guitarist's face. However in your original and also the conversion the focus is on the guitar and his hands - to my eye it works well in both. The detail is great. Also cropping the left side of the image to remove the extraneous items worked well for me as well.
I like what Kirsti did with her version, but prefer your choice for the vignette as your version opens up the image more.
A great choice of subject and processing. Thank you for sharing it with us. |

Hi Al. In this I differ a bit. I like the B&W version a little better. The color version is certainly dramatic, but still there is something in the B&W version that speaks to me.
I agree with Barbara - the B&W version looks heavily (to my eye) over sharpened. I chose to play with the original in PS 2025, converting to monochrome, adjusting the color sliders and also a crop to remove some of the sky. Your thoughts?
Thanks very much for sharing it with us. |

Hi Kirsti. In answer to your question - to my eye it did not work as you wished. I did not get a sense of motion - more like the camera was simply out of focus, but that is my eye on this and I am not much into portraiture. The hair does indicate movement but it is hard to make out in both, though a little easier in the color version. This is one of the few times I admit to liking the color version a little better.
Her expression is great especially with the light in her eye, and the pealing paint backdrop helps along with the vignette.
Thank you for sharing it with us. |

A really nice image Robert. The quiet reflection, and the scene with people in a quiet place speak to me of peace, serenity. I was also impressed with the level of detail in the decorations on the building as well as the mirrored geometric shapes as seen in the water.
I might have softened the contrast a bit, but other than that I have no suggestions for improvement.

Thanks very much Albert. I did not think of panorama at the time. It would, I think, have told a great story. Perhaps if I should get the opportunity to return - at least that is my prayer. |

Thank you Robert. All you said is spot on. I can only dream of a day when all of them will be turned into "plow shares". As a Viet Nam vet I can tell you war is ugly. Perhaps that is where some of the feeling with image originated for me. |

Thank you Barbara. I was not a tanker as such, but having retired from the Army it had a meaning for me as well. |

Thank you Kirsti. As always I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. Your idea about memory fading away - is that like making the tank somewhat transparent? |
