47 Feb 25 Reply Hi Kirsti,

I really like your version. You are correct and of a truth I was so focused on the action I did not think of blurring the background to make the action stand out. Well done and thank you for your effort.

47 Feb 25 Comment Good morning Kirsti,

The title really conveys the thought behind the image. I have read the other comments. While I can see the points that were made, and they are worth further investigation, I have to confess that to my eye your first version is the most effective. I like the balance that the right side gives to the truck.

In truth this image was one I studied for some time before commenting and came down on the side of your original. A great concept Kirsti thank you for sharing it with us.

47 Feb 25 Comment Hi Al,

This is a great image (to my eye) showing exquisite detail of the frozen shore line. It really conveys the sense of cold in the way the ice crystals have formed when they froze.

I cannot think of any suggestions for improvement and I would be happy to hang this on a wall when decorating a room.

Thank you for sharing it with us Al.

47 Feb 25 Comment HI Jeff, I love this shot. I have always loved the ocean and this is an image that reminded me of that love.

As for removing the trees near the lighthouse - to my eye it would have been good either way The trees give it some context when the mono version emphasizes the lighthouse.

I like how you processed the image to emphasize the rays coming through the clouds. I also think that opening up the foreground to show the details of the coastline made a big difference enhancing the image further.

Thank you very much for sharing it with us.

47 Feb 25 Comment Hi Robert - living where I do near Lancaster County, PA I experienced this scene.

I like the view with the buggy and the farm. I also think you had a good balance showing the snow field versus the buggy. For myself I would have liked a little more separation between the buildings on the left and the edge of the image.

Still a very nice image of the farm and buggy in a snow field.

47 Feb 25 Reply Thanks Barbara. Your comment about emphasizing the separation is well taken. I chose this because it emphasized the actual cut, but the other would have worked well. Thank you for your comments. Feb 8th
47 Feb 25 Comment Hi Albert, this was an action shot. I know the sword appears stationary, it was not. The Tameshigiri (rolled tatami mat) is roughly equivalent to the human body with bones. What you see is the top portion of the mat in the act of falling after the sword had made a clean cut all of the way through it. That kind of cut only comes with years of practice and a very sharp katana (sword). My apologies if it is somewhat confusing. Feb 7th
