47 Feb 24 Reply My mistake - I thought for some reason you lived in Iceland. Thank you for the information. Feb 21st
47 Feb 24 Comment Thank you for your comment Trung. It would have's been awkward to try to get a full on face without losing the intended atmosphere of the shot. Plus it was an "ambush"shot making the full face very hard to get. Still I thank you for your thoughts and given other circumstances I would have tried to get his full face. Feb 12th

47 Feb 24 Reply Definitely - to my eye - better. I like both but I like the second much more, for its sense of depth that I do not get from the original. Feb 11th
47 Feb 24 Reply Thanks Kristi. That is one reason why I still use Photoshop when a lot of people I know have switched to OnOne. I like OnOne and use it, but I still can't do with it what I can do with PS. I also use the Nik Collection, especially Silver Efex Pro for my B&W conversions.

PS - what would be the best time of year to visit Iceland for Photography?

47 Feb 24 Comment Hi Trung,

I like this shot, especially her expression which seems almost challenging - like saying to me as the viewer, "what do see?". I thought your processing was well done as I see it.

My only suggestion would be to eliminate the netting from her hat, or make is more distinct. I spent time trying to figure out what I was seeing there which took my eye away from the central image theme which I saw as her face and her expression . I have no other comments or suggestions. You should spend more time outside of your comfort zone if this is the result.

I really nice portrait shot. Thanks for sharing it with us.

47 Feb 24 Comment Hi Albert. I studied this image for some time before reading what you said. Apart from your description I thought I as looking at an image made from below the gull and seeing him (her?) against the sky. Once I read what you wrote I could see the surf, but the softness of the water still leaves me feeling that I am seeing the clouds in the sky.

To my eye it is a great nature shot As I see it you did a great job on the post processing bringing out the gull while leaving the waves out of focus. I also like how your work brought out the texture of the rock under the gull along with its plumage.

I really nice image, thank you for sharing it with us Albert.

47 Feb 24 Comment Hi Kristi. This was really an interesting concept for me to view. Your choice of processing also enhanced the image, at least as I view it.

I really do not have much else to say. In your place I could consider making a print and incorporating into a decorating plan for home or office (home office)

Thanks for sharing it with us Kristi

47 Feb 24 Comment I liked your concept Jeff. As I told Robert I really like snow scenes and this, as I see it, is good. I think Robert has a good point about the more oe less vertical wire. It does not particularly detract from the image, at least not to my eye. On the other hand I cannot see it adds much and by some might be considered an irritation - I do not.

My issue is the bright white speck on the left of the image. To my eye they are a big distraction, and as I look cannot see what they contribute to the image. For my part, I would tone them down or perhaps even remove them.

Still, all things being considered, a very nice image. Thank you for sharing it with us.

47 Feb 24 Comment Hi Robert.
I love winter snow scenes. To me your timing for catching the snow on the branches was very good.

To my eye it does look very busy with no place for my eye to settle. Still it makes for a nice winter landscape and given the right context I believe it could be a good wall hanger.,

My suggestion is to darken the image a bit with a little more contrast in order to give it a greater sense of depth in the woods and perhaps a little less detail in the reflection allowing the eye to focus more on the trees in the image.

Overall a nice image - thank you for sharing it with us.

47 Feb 24 Reply Thanks Robert. The book was a struggle as you can see from the original. I was quite pleased with being able to pull the text out of the original. I will revisit that but I am not sure if I can darken it more without it looking artificial. Still thank you very much for your suggestion. Feb 8th
