A good catch Gagandeep. I like the way you framed the pack and blurred both the foreground and background. In fact there is only one thing, to my eye, that I would change and that is the tree that appears to be growing out of the two wolves on the right. To my eye it is very distracting.
Aside from that I think it is a wonderful image of a difficult subject.
I did some work on the image in Photoshop (clone stamp and spot healing brush) to remove the tree. I would be interested in your thoughts.
Thank you for sharing it with us Gagandeep. |

I really like this image Albert, but have to agree with you and the others about the buildings being almost too dark.
To my eye the composition was very nice ant the contrast between the calm harbor and the rugged mountains was dynamic.
After some thought I did a little work in it and think it might have helped some. I would be interested in your thoughts.

Funny you should link this with The Lord of the Rings. The trilogy is one of my favorite reads. I have read it through 3 or 4 time. It is almost like a variation on a theme centered on the Silmarils (there were if I remember correctly 3 of them) only decorative spheres instead of gems.
I think your concept was brilliant. I was tempted to try to bring down the highlights but, through better of it. To my eye it is fine just the way it is. I can only echo what Jeff and Robert said about the color.
Thanks very much for sharing it with us Kristi. |

A great story image Jeff, and to my eye a perfect choice for your crop of the original. The monochrome, as others have said, works wonderfully and cleaning out the lines and whatnot from the background was well chosen.
I too like the sense of complete concentration of the ballerina - I can imagine that if the toe shoes are not tied just right it could cause problems during the show and perhaps later, at least that is what her focus tells me.

Hi Robert. I like this concept and after reading the other comments I do not have much to add.
For my part, a tighter crop might work better, but your stay or leave message does come through to me.
My issue is that I would have liked to see the top of the cross and the top of the arch. Looking at the image and the statue I am left with a feeling of being not quite complete. Perhaps if the original did show the top of the arch, then a crop that included that and left out the chairs below? Just a thought.

Thank you for your comment Jeff. Kristi's idea has merits and I will look further into it. On the other hand, I did not want to get her too ephemeral, too indistinct or ,to my eye, it would have changed the story line I wanted to present. |

Thank you Robert. This was my first effort at a composition like this - merging two images to create a story. I was pleased with the results.
I normally will try to tell the story in the camera, but this also works for me. I will do more of this kind of work.
Thank you again for your comments. |

Thank you Kristi. How much of her I wanted to show in order to create the story was a bit of a challenge. Your version is nice, however to my eye she becomes too indistinct. Still I really appreciate the effort, and also your comments. Thank you |
