Thank you for your comments Kristi. That was exactly what I wanted the image to do. |

I won't disagree with your thoughts. In fact I struggled with the crop from the original, including having to change the perspective that a wide angle lens gave the image. I chose to leave it as it was in order to give a more full sense of the context in which I found both the image and myself - a sense of the vastness of the library.
Thank you for your suggestions. |

I like this a lot Albert. Your processing gives me the sense of looking at a negative of the image - a good choice for my eye.
It gives me the sense of a refuge in a cold and rather barren area - a place of warmth and shelter. There is also a sense of peace surrounding the church - an uncomplicated scene the takes my mind back to the days when churches were open far more than they are today - places were people could go to get out of the weather, places for quiet reflection.
A great image, thank you so much for sharing it with us. |

A great portrait of the bob cat. I can almost see the thoughts behind the smile - "I am snug and warm and those poor people out there in the bitter cold - tee hee!". The eyes are closed, but I have the feeling of being watched in spite of that - wow!
To my eye a great portrait shot of the cat. The detail and processing of the image are, to my eye, exquisite. I can come up with no constructive thoughts - great catch and great post processing Kristi. Thank you for sharing it with us. |

I do believe that you have a good story telling image, one that speaks to the popularity of the Pope. Sadly I found him to be rather less than obvious in the image and had I not read your statement, would not have known to look for Him.
Having said that You have done, at least to my eye, a good job at showing both incidence and context in this image, from the Pope, to the crowds trying to get memories of the moment, to the man on the video camera filming the scene. This cannot have been an easy image to get and to process, good catch.
I do like Kristi's crop and might even have cropped it a little tighter in order to bring him out still more - the while versus the more muted colors of the crowd. I might also try dehazing the image a bit to give it more definition - but that is preference on my part. Let me know what you think of the changes. |
