Thank you for the input Sharon. Operating on your thoughts I made some changes in PSCC. Your thoughts? |

To my eye this is a nice and restful landscape shot. It works for me in B&W. I cannot help but wonder how that same scene would look in fall colors. I find myself agreeing with the other comments so there is not much I can add.
I will admit I did not see the other side of the stream as being forested until I read Sharon's comment and expanded the image for a closer look.
As a suggestion, perhaps some adjustment of the brightness znd tonality of the opposite side of the stream to make the forest a little more prominent.
All in all I find this to be a good landscape. Thank you for sharing it with us. |

There is not much I can add to what Sharon did. To me this is a wonderful moment in time and, to my eye, Sharon's modification is a good one - it works for me. I actually like both images, but must admit I am drawn more to Sharon's edit.
I do applaud your sense of timing in catching this shot - great catch. Thank you for sharing it with us Jen! |

This is an image with which I struggled to frame my comments. I love the clarity and detail of the image. I especially love how you captured the detail and the pose of the Cormorant along with the gossamer detail in the moss.
My issue is with the relative size of the bird compared to the area covered by the image. Part of me wants the bird to fill more of the area, and part of me thinks that cropping the image would lose something because it would lack the full extent of the moss.
I copied the image into PSCC and cropped it to put the birds head at the critical point in the image. See what you think.
A wonderful catch on the cormorant - thank you for sharing it. |

I find this to be an interesting portrait image. The pose is interesting and the crop is effective to my eye. At the same time it leaves me a little uneasy.
My issue is that the high-key approach almost loses the little boy's face into the background. I think, for me, it would have been more effective with some background (or a darker background) and no vignette so that his face and expression were the focus of attention as opposed to the shirt and hat being the darkest and most prominent objects in the image. It is true they frame his face, but the tonality of the face versus the background is too close to my eye.
Thank you for sharing it with us Sharon. |

I find this a very interesting image composition that leaves me with somewhat mixed feelings. I find it to be very engaging on one level, especially the reflection on the vehicle windshield. At the same time I find it very busy and somewhat confusing as I am not sure at what, and where to look.
To my eye the technical aspects of the image are excellent (lighting, contrast, Depth of Field, Tonality, etc.) and very well executed.
In many respects a very interesting image. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I really like this image. The combination of the sky, the landscape and the road leading my eye deep into the image works wonderfully for me. I even like the one lonesome pole on the right side of the road as, to me, it enhances the concept of your title "Lonesome Highway". This looks like some of the roads I have driven in Wyoming.
I cannot think of any suggestions to improve the image. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. |
