Thanks Don. You are correct, they are Gold finches mixed with House Finches. Given the Sepia tint I chose, I am not sure how I would have made the gold feathers whiter. I will go back when I get a chance and play with pure B&W. That might have helped. |

Looking at this image I found myself studying it to see of there was a lion somewhere waiting for lunch get closer.
I like the way the lead animal is looking at you while none of the others are doing so. I also like the setting with the mountains in the distance the sense of and the sense of distance given by the misty appearance of the hills in the distance.

For a scanned negative I think the focus is wonderful along with the lack of grain or noise that I can see. I am curious was this B&W or color film?
I like the texture of the rock and the foam on the rock, along with the "fuzzed out" water caused by the long exposure.
To my eye, the image is a great study in texture and motion in a still shot.
Thank you very much for sharing it with us.

The concept of a flower in black and white against a featureless background is a favorite of mine, though I usually choose black.
To my eye, I find the technical aspects to be excellent.
I particularly like how you captured the texture of the petals and the leaves, the contrast as I see it is perfect.
I love this image, thank you very much for sharing it with us. |

I find this to be a stark and emotion filled image. I like everything. It definitely tells a story about the plight of a person who does not have a home, even to the extent of apparently using a wheel barrow as make-shift bath tub.
It is a wonderful image. As everyone else has commented on the technical aspect I will not add to what they have said.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. |

I find this to be an interesting study in texture. However, while I understand the pills, I really do not understand the context of what I am seeing.
I do find the technical aspects of the image (lighting, focus, etc.) to be excellent, but there is nothing in particular to draw me to, or into the image - perhaps simply a lack of a story line, or even the ability to create a story around the image. |

I have to agree with Jen. While it would be nice to see the second man's face, I find him to be simply part of the environment of the photo. I actually like the way the tub of grapes and the man's arms frame his face. I suspect you used a wide aperture as the tub of grapes appears to very slightly out of focus, which to my eye actually makes or a better image.
I like it, thank you for sharing it with us |
