Vella, interesting image as I said back in December 202 when you submitted it. I guess the comments then are still valid

Erik, the Reddish Egret is my favorite bird to photograph in Florida. In fact, I was there at that pond with you a few years back and got quite a few images of them (2 of them) fishing. I have 2 comments to make: agree with Gary's note that this image may be considered as a "but Shot", and I think the band of ground in the lower border is very distracting not shown in your original to illustrate the way they fish. |

Guy, we just came back from Ireland, but we limited out stay to Dublin only. I like the way you achieved the silky look on the water without overexposing. Nice composition. |

Gary, very nice high key/sepia toned image. It gives to it a timeless feel. Indeed once you get out of the big city into the backroads, the photographic opportunities grow exponentially. The image is sharp. |

Grace, great capture of a BIF. The first thing the Osprey does once it catches a fish is to park somewhere and rip off the head, which was already done here. The image is sharp but it lacks contrast. The light is harsh therefore the intense shadow. I adjusted the contrast and cropped it additionally to remove some of the empty space, and still leaving enough space in the front so the bird can fly into. |

Doug, the Quetzal is in every bird watcher or photographer' wish list. I visited the same farm in Costa Rica a couple of years ago. Did get the bird on the tree but not eating the avocado as you did. We waited for a long time, the birds never took off. Do you have a little more real state below to show the whole tail ?? Image is sharp, and it is great that you have both the male and the female on the same frame. |

Gloria, I second Doug. I was at the Galapagos Island, did photograph the Albatross but never on the nest with egg(s). Great catch. I think the crop is too tight specially in the front of the bird and bello, amputating the nest. Here, more is better. Image is sharp. Perhaps getting lower you get a better perspective. |

Gerhard, it is very unusual to photograph a spoonbill with the big fish in the beak. They usually fish with a side by side movement of the neck and like a vacuum cleaner with the beak deep in the water. I have never seen this. Image is sharp. |

Bruce, great image at peak of action. The face expression of the player says it all. Obviously, the attendant could not care less of what is going on. Image well illuminated and sharp |

Bev, to me it looks more like an interpreter in one of the Renaissance Festivals, perhaps an Irish guitar player. It is unfortunate that the kid in the lower corner is almost completely amputated. Nice colors, and the player is looking away from the camera. Did not engage with you. |

Gerald, it was good to see you in Portland, and congratulations for your "best of" image. The participants would jump over the strong horse until it collapses by the weight... and the the team switches. |

Gerry, great action image. Very sharp and with lots of speed with the dirt in the air. I think the crop is tight in the front legs of the horse. In the Homestead Rodeo, not always the direction of the turns is predictable, and the "Rodeo Police" is all the time pushing us away from the fence. Oh Well.. |

Maria. the Monarch Butterfly is just fascinating, specially with respect to their migration to Mexico. Your image is very sharp including the flower in spite the f/4.5 and 200 mm. To my eyes, there is too much flower overpowering the butterfly which should be the main actor. This is my interpretation for a crop. |

Richard, good crop emphasizing the interesting element in this image which is the bird with the caught fish. The long neck is the perfect leading line towards he fish. Image is sharp, and the colors are vivid. I like the movement in the water with the multiple colors palette. |

Maria, indeed you have a very steady pulse. To get this type of sharpness with a macro lens and so close and using only 1/100 sec is remarkable. Very interesting critter. Some purist may say (not me) that the blurred foreground is distracting and bring up to use a tripod and focus stacking. Oh well ... |

Adrian, nice conversation of the three King Penguins with the Gentoo. Interesting that the ground is dry and with vegetation (time of the year ??). Image is sharp. Nice composition.
We visited The Falkland Islands back in 2013 on our cruise to Antarctica. The weather was far from nice as you had it. |

Bruce, this high key minimalistic image is another winner. The color of the fox stands out against the white of the snow. Image is sharp. The presence of the little bush brings the image up a notch. |
