Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
4 Mar 25 Comment Guy, it amazes me as how the expertise of the clock makers of the time created these precision machines. Couple of details: 4 in Roman Numerals normally is IV, here is IIII, and the section for the date in the month took quite some work to include up to number 31. Image is sharp. Mar 11th
4 Mar 25 Comment Vella, great image with a story. Indeed brotherly love. Normally in nature the weakest link succumbs. Guy's tweak improved the image. Mar 11th
4 Mar 25 Comment Ian, shot at peak of action. Sharp. Interesting as how the shoes are not part of the cultural outfit. All different. About the observers in the background implies it is something happening in real time. Either option:darkening or blurring is something to consider. Mar 11th
4 Mar 25 Comment Gary, peak of action. Perhaps reducing the brightness in the Egret's body you may get a little more detail in the feathers. They look slightly soft. Could be the combination with the extender which always degrades the image slightly. Nice reflection. Mar 6th
4 Mar 25 Comment Erik, after reading Bill email of what AI can do, not much can be said, exept that I wish i was there. Normally the images going around of the Canyon are with much brighter light and the clear areas of the hoodoos look overexposed. Not here. Sharp Mar 6th
4 Mar 25 Comment Bill, great result of oil drops on water with a rainbow background and well illuminated. Each drop acts a a camera lens with an inverted image (Original pin hole camera boxes). Sharp and colorful. Mar 6th
4 Mar 25 Reply Vella, yes the bluish is consequence of the selection done trying to darken the background. Not an easy task even with the new masking brushes in Adobe (LightRoom and CC) Mar 6th

15 Mar 25 Comment Grace, beautiful bird indeed with brilliant colors. We do not see them here in south Florida. The white plumage is slightly soft. Could be because the 2x extender. I agree with an even tighter crop and a touch of flip. Mar 27th
15 Mar 25 Reply Gerhard, a friend of mine always says "f/8 babe" Mar 19th
15 Mar 25 Comment Kathy, indeed the Alligator Farm in St Augustin Florida is a photographers paradise specially during matting season (now) and when there is a lot of activity of nests building, eggs hatching and feeding the chicks. Also at this time they have the photographer's pass which allows you to enter the facility one hour before they open to the public and stay until sunset. Normally they close at five.
The wood duck I would say it is the most beautiful and photogenic of the ducks. Your title tells the story. I added some light to the birds to enhance the colors, and did a tighter crop.

15 Mar 25 Comment Sarita, the GBH is a great bird to photograph specially during matting season and when they are building their nest. It is interesting behavior when the male brings a twig/stick and the female receives it and places in the nest being build, she will allow the male to jump on her back. This image also has a good environmental component. Mar 9th
15 Mar 25 Comment Jerry, I agree with you. This bald eagle has a very strong attitude. The partial amputation of the body degrades the image. A tighter crop done intentionally will improve the image. Mar 9th
15 Mar 25 Comment Gloria, the bird is known as the anhinga in the US and this is a male. It has their characteristic pose with open wings and facing the sun to dry the feathers since they have no oil glands to make the feathers waterproof. They are excellent underwater fishers. Also the pose is very elegant with the neck twisted and head looking the other way. The image is sharp. Mar 9th
15 Mar 25 Comment Gerhard, yes the hammer head bird is endemic to Africa and Madagascar. I was able to photograph in in Tanzania. The image is at peak of action when the bird has the fish and showing movement to land given by the leg in the air and open wings. The image is sharp and the colors very vivid. Mar 9th

58 Mar 25 Comment Kathleen, this image has a lot of strong positive features including leading lines, the reflection of the not seen in the frame sitting people, and the strongest is the presence of the person looking down at the end of the walkway on the left (my left). I cloned out the crane in the back since it is distracting. I prefer the semi sepia version better. Mar 9th
58 Mar 25 Comment Pinaki, good street scene. The kid with the white elongated balloon stands out in the image and becomes the center of attention. The image is sharp. Some judges may criticise the level of amputation of the shoes and legs. Perhaps an on purpose tighter crop is of relevance. Mar 9th
58 Mar 25 Comment Bruce, Colombia is a bird's photographers and birders paradise. I was in the same region last September, specially for the hummingbirds. I like the way you cropped the image isolation the main subject and pace very well. The image is sharp and nicely composed. It is a normal reaction of the subjects when they realize that are being photographed. Mar 9th
58 Mar 25 Comment Bev, we are on the same page this month. The artist is really isolated from the crowd by the headphones, and she looks concentrated. Agree with Ed's Tweak. Your PP also improved the image. Mar 9th
58 Mar 25 Comment Ed, interesting but busy image. Equipment diversity including an iPad. I like the many nature and ethnic objects in the frame. The framing of the room and photographer in the background by the other three photographers enhances the image. Mar 9th

59 Mar 25 Reply Bruce, it looks better. Thank you Mar 27th
59 Mar 25 Comment Don, fantastic result from an unconventional vantage point as you described. 120 fps and the pre-capture feature of the Z9 allows for additional technology to capture images like this. Good eye from very far. Mar 15th
59 Mar 25 Comment Gerald, patience pays off as you have proven here. Peak of action and the main image tells the story. Sharp. Mar 15th
59 Mar 25 Comment Andre, the pose of the golfer after the swing is sharp and his face expression adds interest to the photo. From your description, we would have to be there to concur with you. Mar 15th
59 Mar 25 Comment Ronald, indeed we are on a Rugby state of mind. Very aggressive game with little or none protection, except the mouth piece nicely shown here, rather than hanging in the ear (attached photo) Mar 15th
59 Mar 25 Comment Tom, you had the best sit in the house. Great vantage point. Peak of action on a very expressive athlete. Sharp. Mar 15th
59 Mar 25 Reply How about this crop ? Mar 15th

72 Mar 25 Comment Adrian, peak of action. Two brown boobies negotiating a flying fish. It takes skills and speedy decision to capture an image like this, not to mention a good eye. Well done. Mar 27th
72 Mar 25 Comment Maria, nice winter landscape with a blurred stream of water giving that silky effect. I agree that the central point of the image is the silky are. I cropped the image in all four sides and added a little more light to the blurred stream to make it the central point. Sorry that I eliminated your frame. Mar 27th
72 Mar 25 Comment Richard, the Reddish Egret is the most interesting bird to photograph specially when they are looking for food. They give you the VIP performance in dancing and flying. Unfortunately, your image was created in very difficult light conditions and does not give justice to the beautiful and colorful bird. Also, when photographing birds in a perch/tree, it is desirable to get the whole body and legs the best you can, or crop the image on purpose but much tighter. Mar 15th
72 Mar 25 Comment Maria, nice image specially because the interaction of two different species of birds, each minding their own business. Image is sharp. I like Bruce's crop and just added some light and saturation to the Ibis so the real colors and details in the feathers show better. Mar 15th
