Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
4 Sep 24 Comment Ian, at this point everything about this image and the B&W interpretation has been talked about. Great image. Sep 24th
4 Sep 24 Comment Guy, interesting documentary image, and well composed. The beauty of this discussion groups is that we always learn from each other. We normally "do not see" our weaknesses in an image. As per Erik's observation, I did add some light to the building using the masking brushes in ACR. Sep 24th
4 Sep 24 Comment Erik, the image is very sharp, and the long track/leading line created by the skimmer in a calm water makes the image, including the perfect reflection. Sep 3rd
4 Sep 24 Comment Gary, interesting vantage point and great composition. Very sharp and good management of the light. Nice variety of rockets, and you were able to get the star effect on the lights with an f/2.2 Sep 3rd
4 Sep 24 Comment Vella, fabulous result considering the amount of crop. Image is sharp and the management of the colors was excellent. Peak of action with the proboscis directly into the flower. Great capture. Sep 3rd

15 Sep 24 Comment Kathy, I just learned that this bird is a Peahen thanks to Leslie Larson, (and thanks for visiting and for enlightening us) and not a peacock. They both share a lot of similarities, but are quite different. Interesting Pose and colors. Image is sharp Sep 15th
15 Sep 24 Comment Sarita, this bird is called the White Egret here in Florida. The presence of the flying Dragonfly hovering over the head is what makes this image, since the egret is just standing there. Both are sharp. Agree with Jerry's crop. Sep 15th
15 Sep 24 Comment Pei-Fan nice image of this Swinhoe's White Eye bird which is common in Eastern China, Taiwan and northern Vietnam to Thai-Malay Peninsula to Sumatra and Borneo. The colorful background created by the cherry blossoms contrasts very nice with the bird's yellow. Indeed an interesting pose which may imply readiness to fly. The bird is very sharp.

15 Sep 24 Comment Jerry, it is very difficult to obtain and complete front to back sharp image in this circumstances. The front sand hill crane is sharp, but not his/hers wingman which together with the blurred background tells the story. Nice colors. Bosque del Apache in New Mexico is a great place for cranes and white Canadian geese photography. Sep 15th

58 Sep 24 Reply Sergio, I agree with your crop. Sep 23rd
58 Sep 24 Reply Sergio, good point. I missed it Sep 23rd
58 Sep 24 Comment Kathleen, this image is more about the architecture of the Paris airport terminal, and the presence of the people gives us the real sense of dimension. The illuminated line on the roof creates a leading line towards the people which is intercepted by anothe oblique illuminated line, breaking the monotony. A great variety of geometric form created by them and the concrete roof. Sep 15th
58 Sep 24 Comment Sergio, interesting effect which gives us a sense of motion with the blurred content in the frame, being only the runner in red more sharp that the rest but not completely. I do not thing you panned the runner, but just moved the zoom lens control out creating that effect. Very clever and different. Sep 15th
58 Sep 24 Comment Ed, indeed the young people is engaged in a rock climbing exercise and we go by your description. It is a cold day given by their outfits. It is sharp. No cropping. Everything is in context. Sep 15th
58 Sep 24 Comment Bruce, actual way of living. Typical Barber Shop. The Barber seems to be using his time off for reading. Good ilumination inside the shop, and it is sharp. Sep 15th
58 Sep 24 Comment Pinaki, good management of Depth of Field, everything is is focus. Quincy Market is a great place for photography and good food. Your angle is very appropriate with separation between the singer and the sculpture. Good eye. Sep 15th
58 Sep 24 Comment Bev, interesting street Photography shot in Cuba. The youth have no future, they are just cruising the times. You captured the image with him really with a lost gage, perhaps just figuring what to do next in his life. I took your original, was able to straighten the verticals, did some cropping, and did not get some of the grunge effect you applied. Sep 12th

59 Sep 24 Comment Hans, these field hockey players are not young. Peak of action, players are sharp. The blue background takes prevalence in the image. Harsh light. Sep 15th
59 Sep 24 Comment Gerald, this is a compromise shot. Getting the whole image in context implies sacrificing the size of the performers. As Ronald said, I preffer the main image but I would crop it tighter without cuting the smoke. Sep 12th
59 Sep 24 Comment Ronald, we do not want to get rid of the old stuff. It has a very strong sentimental value plus is not much what we can get for selling them, and perhaps there is not much candidates. I like that the ball is in the frame. Sep 12th
59 Sep 24 Comment Bruce, indeed runs in the family. I do not have much to add to Ronald comments. Good management of the DOF. Foreground is very sharp. Nice colors. Sep 12th

67 Sep 24 Comment Larry, you just gave us a master lecture (as you always do). Mission accomplished. What a great image. You should submit it to the Photopills library. The only time I tried this adventure was many years ago, at Markam Park in Weston. First the mosquitos were flying us and after a little while, a park ranger saved our life since he kicked us out of the park, we did not have a permit for overnight stay. Also the light contamination was excesive. Sep 3rd

69 Sep 24 Reply Mervyn, good job. Much better Sep 8th
69 Sep 24 Comment Mervyn, great image for sure, and personally, I like the original more showing the flying vulture, and one of the hyena's looking at it. Image is sharp, and at peak of action. The hyenas are the cleaning service of the kill left over. Sep 3rd

72 Sep 24 Comment Chris, the image is almost B&W with a slight touch of color in the eyes, and a little in the background green, indeed brings the attention to the wolf portrait. The image is sharp. Sep 25th
72 Sep 24 Comment second option Sep 15th
72 Sep 24 Comment Maria, WOW we are in a fox and wolf state of mind this month. This image is outstanding, sharp, great color, but I think the amount of green in the lower foreground is very distracting, consequance of your very low vantage point, so first I cropped the image, and now the fox stands out better. I did a second version using content aware generate, and this is what I got. Sep 15th
72 Sep 24 Reply Bruce, we all have been there Sep 15th
72 Sep 24 Comment Bruce, great shot of the fox family. Your vantage point and bokeh makes the image. Very sharp. The foreground with flowers complements very well the image. Sep 15th
72 Sep 24 Comment Barbara, if you had not mention he ears green tags, I would have not noticed them. I was unaware that it is a marker for misbehaviour. Indeed he is enjoying his greens. The image is sharp, and the crop adequete. Sharp. Sep 15th
72 Sep 24 Comment Adrian, great shot showing all three puffins carrying the little fishes ( herring, capelin and sand eels ) in great quantities to feed the chicks. The only time we saw and photograph Puffins in Island, the weather was terrible and the wind very strong, so the puffins stayed home watching Netflix. Sep 12th

91 Sep 24 Comment Adrian, double whammy indeed. Both birds have a catch. Image is sharp. The colors are very vivid. Looks like they were just posing for you. Congratulations for the Silver medal. Sep 3rd
