Guy, the juxtaposition of the strong colors and geometric shapes makes the image. Smart use of the available signaling posters and good selection of vantage point. You and me have to keep our titles active, you Mr Staircase, and I Dr Flip .... Image is tack sharp. |

Ian, great to see you two guys together for a change. You guys look great. Interesting image with the silky effect on what looks like a rough ocean nicely framed by the bricks wall. Not a summer day. BTW I just saw your B&W rendition of the same image at Group 31, and FLIPPED !! |

Gary, indeed a wonderful architecture image. I believe that the amount of foreground left being so busy with the patterns is competing very strongly with the building itself which is a very elaborated structure as well and should be the main subject. I did crop it and added a little more intense blacks. |

Erik, you are right. I have not seen these birds in private behavior. Indeed, you caught them at peak of action and nicely framed by the homogeneous and partially blurred foreground and background. The colors are very vivid. Now, the birds themselves are quite soft with no detail, is it perhaps because of the image low resolution to be post ? |

Jim, nice image of a bald eagle perhaps looking for a prey to catch given by his/her body language. Very sharp and great colors. I like the crop and the way the branches are framing the bird. |

Mike, the whistling ducks are very colorful and musical specially while flying. The image is sharp. To me the amount of branches of the tree shown overpowers the presence of the duck, which is just standing there with no action going on. I cropped the image and now the duck takes prevalence. |

Pei-Fan, you were able to get the whole family in action at feeding time when the chicks go crazy and are desperate to receive their food. You have the two adults most likely mom and pap. The birds show their matting plumage. The American white Egret has a yellow beak in contrast with these one's that have it dark (See Kathys image). The nest is nicely framed by the homogeneous greenery. |

Kathy, great decisive moment and the way the egret is framing itself with the wing and showing off its matting plumage. The image is sharp, and the colors are very vivid. Nice contrast of the blue ski with the greenery. You can never go wrong at the Alligators Farm in St Augustin. |

Ed, this is a musical month for all of us. It is not frequent to find a woman playing the sax in a band. All the artists are doing something and getting ready for the show. The image is sharp. I think the B&W version has more character. |

Bruce, great story. Also good for PJ. I like as how the two musicians frame the lady behind them still a little dark giving some mystery to the seen. What time of the year do they start. It looks like a place and event to visit. The image is sharp and well illuminated. Thanks for the additional ones for story telling. |

Pinaki, this image gives us a lot to think about, First why was the man carrying that amount of leaves and for what. Two possibilities came to mind: to feed his animals, or to dry them and use as burning material in the winter. Anyway, the image become mysterious since we can not see his face and arms, only barely his legs. He is wearing yellow boots which combines nicely with the greenery. We can also appreciate some fog in the mountain and construction way down there. |

Sergio, you are giving us a nice lecture where planning and patience go hand in hand. You framed the art in the background with the arch of the building and just waited. My guess is that you used 1/30th sec to express motion and still keeping detail in the walking man. The rest of the image is sharp. |

Ronald, I second Don in not knowing much about Lacrosse except that it was invented by the Native Americans. Also learned about the Iroquois Nation (first time a hear about it) and my guess would be that they should be able to secure a medal. Anyway, the image is sharp and full of action with both players in the air. The one in the front has the ball in the basket (Lacrosse head). |

Bruce, this is a different ball game (pun intended). What a disgrace for the team to loose five players by lightning. The two players in uniform seem to be just practicing just out of school(backpack on the ground) being watched by the bystanders. Image is sharp. |

Chris, again welcome to the group. This is a nice image of the multicolor macaws, and your selection of crop is appropriate to enhance the details of the eyes and feathers. The background is not distracting. Now, I see that you did a selective focus point in the eye of the bird behind, making the one in the foreground blurred which becomes very distracting. I would have done the opposite, making the bird in the front sharp and softening the one in the back. again, it is a matter of choice in the eyes of the beholder. |

Leah, nice flower image. It is difficult to create a good image in a nursery given by all the distracting elements around your subject as you can see here, specially the background. Perhaps using a wide open f/stop would help to blur a little more the background. I did crop the image to center the attention on the flower.
About focus stacking or focus shifting as is labeled in the camera menu, nowdays most of the cameras can do it. I added a link as how to do it in a Nikon z7ii.

Barbara, indeed a cute image and I agree with you about spending as long as it takes while the critter is visible. Very sharp. Great background. Peak of action with its mouth open and showing the content. I think that the dry tree is overpowering the Chipmunk. This is my crop |

Bruce, great capture of the Cara Cara at ground levelvantage point. The head and eye are very sharp. The greenery in front and in the back is out of focus, only possible with an f/2.8 prime lens. Last time I went to Viera it was completely dead of action. |
