4 Oct 23 Reply Thank you Guy Oct 15th
4 Oct 23 Reply Gary, All these images were handheld and following the cars. I do not think you can achieve this effect on a tripod. Interesting result your iteration. Visit group 59 and you will see a different car this month. Thanks Oct 5th
4 Oct 23 Reply Guy, yes I did Oct 5th
4 Oct 23 Comment Guy, very colorful image, very sharp, and nicely composed. I think there is too much empty space, so I cropped the image and reduced slightly the brightness of the ocean. Nice reflections. Oct 4th
4 Oct 23 Comment Bill, this was an interesting model for sure. He had several outfits/hats and he would explain what the combination of them would mean with respect to time in history and rank on the army of the time. A glass (or more...) of Bourbon can do miracles with imagination and creation, and our fellow member of the group is a Jack of many trades and master of all with respect of the Apps he has on his iPhone. In fact, during the conference there were several lectures dedicated just to the iPhone Photography. Soon there will be no need for laptop or a desktop computers to process our images. BTW, i missed the live workshop at the bar. Oct 4th
4 Oct 23 Comment Gary, great architectural image indeed. I like very much as how all the curves converge in the background. I agree with Guy that the color version does more justice to the image. The B&W interpretation is a little dull. It may be helped with more intense contrast. Great composition with the curved lines starting at the two lower corners of the frame. Oct 4th
4 Oct 23 Comment Ian, great balancing act image. The guy is obviously strong to hold the twins like this. Nice composition with an unusual backdrop, the bricks wall. I just cropped the image on the right (my right) to eliminate that dark distracting area and make the background uniform, and made the horizontal lines straight. The image is sharp. Redid the white stroke Oct 3rd
4 Oct 23 Comment Vella, interesting image, however; the colors look overall oversaturated. Nice composition and the image is sharp. As Guy mentioned, some work on the shadows would bring more detail on the dark areas. I did reduce the vibrance and added some light to the house reflection. Oct 3rd
4 Oct 23 Comment Erik, what a delightful palette of pastel colors. As you said, very unusual. I also noted the small airplane on my first look. The additional presence of a small boat creating wake adds interest to the image. Now, the buildings look soft, like it was done on purpose. No evidence of sharp lines, but that should not have happened at 1/1600 sec shutter speed. I am puzzled. Oct 3rd
4 Oct 23 Reply I think it looks much better. Thank you Guy Oct 3rd

15 Oct 23 Comment Randall, good action image with both birds airborne, and the rain working as backdrop. Perhaps there is too much empty space. With a partial crop you can still provide details of the environment, and make the birds more prevalent in the frame. I believe that the out of focus bird complements the story and composition, creating a triangle with the other birds. Oct 15th
15 Oct 23 Reply Randall, you are right; the water level looks going up. My overlook just observing that the bird was straight. Here is the corrected image Oct 6th
15 Oct 23 Comment Sarita, this is an image with peak of action, very sharp, and nicely composed with a no distracting background. Perhaps a little more space in front and around the Tern to fly into will make the image stronger. Also lowered the brightness of the background slightly. Oct 4th
15 Oct 23 Reply Jim, the skimmers also do that Oct 4th
15 Oct 23 Reply Very good image indeed !! Oct 4th
15 Oct 23 Reply Sarita, the birds always align to be against the direction of the wind for immediate take off Oct 4th
15 Oct 23 Comment Jim, it is always amazing to watch the Cormorants fishing underwater and then come out and throw the fish into the air, maneuvering it several times and then swallow it in almost one gulp. The only time I went to the Conowingo Dam for bald eagles, we only saw hundreds of cormorants, and as you are showing us here, they fight for food. The second image you provided shows the bird and prey coming your way which I like the best, unfortunately, it is not sharp enough. Oct 4th
15 Oct 23 Comment Kathy, interesting image showing sand pipers in the foreground and flying Royal Terns in the back, with a nice background showing the ocean. With a focal length of 200 mm the DOF is minimal, and here required quite a bit. Since the sand piper were kind of immobile, you could have taken a second shot focusing on them, and then you could do focus stacking and obtaining all of the birds in focus. I read very clear that you went for the artistic view aka artistic blur working as leading lines. Oct 3rd
15 Oct 23 Comment Mike, the snow geese and/or the Canadian geese stampede take off at Bosque del Apache is a visual and sound spectacle, and you have to be ready to catch it at the start, since the birds spread in the air very quick. Here you also show environmental features of the area ea. The colors are nicely saturated and overall, the image is sharp. If you visit group 72 my image for July 2019 will show what I mean. http://psadigital.org/group72/image.php?iid=38007 Oct 3rd

58 Oct 23 Comment Bruce, I tend to agree with Ed about cropping out the mother since she is standing next to this qhite pillar/wall creating tension. The girl with her "grandfather" fits the story. Image is sharp and Ed's additional adjustments improves the image. Oct 15th
58 Oct 23 Reply Ed, I like your story. about lets go for ice cream. Oct 15th
58 Oct 23 Reply I am surprised that you read from right to left (Hebrew, Arabic, Urdu and Farsi). I can do Hebrew and derivatives of Greek and Latin. Oct 7th
58 Oct 23 Reply Ed, I like the crop. Oct 7th
58 Oct 23 Reply Ed, could have been the third from either side...
We were traveling fast (faster than them as well) so I used a fast shutter Speed of 1/3200 and took a whole sequence of burst images as we were driving by them. This was the one that captured all of them complete
Oct 7th
58 Oct 23 Comment Gloria, the kid is following the white line on the ground which leads him that way. You caught him between two of the graffiti art on the backwall. The image is very colorful and it is sharp. I just wonder how it would look like were the kid coming towards the photographer instead, and not going away. We can consider this as a butt shot... Oct 4th
58 Oct 23 Comment Kathleen, the Chinese New Year Celebrations are normally very colorful, so I do not think that your monochrome (sepia) interpretation does justice to the event. I preffer the color version. Obviously, it is busy image with lots of things going on. It is sharp and nicely composed following a curved orientation. Oct 4th
58 Oct 23 Comment Ed, Mr Bob the Elk is obviously adapted to the scenery and pretty sence of people, and minds his own business. You were able to get him going both ways. Of course this is far from a nature image since it reads man intervention all over the place. The image is sharp. Oct 4th
58 Oct 23 Comment Pinaki, this is a very colorful image and the center of atention is at the girls with very bright dresses in a nice set up. The other people complement the image and gice scale. It is sharp. Oct 4th

59 Oct 23 Comment Don, great action shot, The ball is in the frame and in the air, and the three players form a triangular composition. The image is sharp. Nothing can be done about the background except shoot wit Bruce's f/2.8 lens and get a good bokeh. I see you already shooting with the 180-600mm, I just received mine a couple of weeks ago. Oct 15th
59 Oct 23 Reply Welcome Colleague from Group 4 Oct 6th
59 Oct 23 Reply Ronald, yes indeed. Nothing is Perfect.... Oct 6th
59 Oct 23 Reply Ronald, sky replacement is not allowed, other adjustments are, as long as the image looks natural Oct 5th
59 Oct 23 Comment Bruce and Ronald, this is a combination of the Dehaze slider and using the masking brush on the background to make it darker Oct 5th
59 Oct 23 Comment Bruce, your vantage point is always at the right place. Indeed your collection is endless. I pretty much can match your Nature/wildlife holdings, not so in sports. I like what Hans did with the colors and the crop. Great action shot. Oct 4th
59 Oct 23 Comment Hans, as they say you were at the right place at the right time, not to mention the privilege af being close to the players. Great action shot. Lots of muscle shown as Bruce said, great body and face language as well. Image is sharp Oct 2nd
59 Oct 23 Comment Kerry, great image, and as Bruce said, this is new to me. Never heard of it. You captured the beast and the horse in peak movement. Interesting as how the back fence is made of tires. I reduced a little the brightness of the white helmet, and added a touch of light to the shadowed face Oct 2nd
59 Oct 23 Comment Ronald, great airplane in flight shot. The body is frozen and sharp, the sky/background is blurred and you can still see the propeller in motion, and as Bruce said, the addition of the occupants heads are also visible. This month we are on a motion/speed state of mind: car, motor bike and airplane. Oct 2nd
59 Oct 23 Comment Gerry, the rider and the bike are very sharp, and the background blurred in spite of the high shutter speed of 1/1600 sec. I think that the image can be improved by giving a little more space in the front of the bike to have room to speed into. Oct 2nd

72 Oct 23 Comment Barbara, this is a very beautiful blue bird The image is sharp in spite of the super crop. The green of the lichen contrast nicely with the blue. Great bokeh Oct 15th
72 Oct 23 Comment Adrian, hummingbirds flap their wing from 50 to 80 times per second, therefore they should be frozen with a shutter speed of 1/2000 sec. They look blurred, not so the tail, so the rule may not apply here. I think that the flower gives environment location. Good resolution in spite of the magno crop. Oct 4th
72 Oct 23 Comment Maria, the jumping spider was cooperative with you and posed long enough. Why did you use just a f/6.3 aperture. You could have gotten better DOF with a smaller one. The image was created at peak of action with the prey that looks like a large fly. What hat is in focus is sharp. Nice natural set up. Oct 4th
72 Oct 23 Comment Bruce, the male Elk a.k.a. Bull is making a call (bugling) given by his face and body language. The image is very sharp including he vegetation next to him, and a nicely blurred background. The bull is well located in the frame. The antlers are fully grown since they lack the velvet cover, so it must be spring. Oct 4th
72 Oct 23 Comment Mary, great view of the Yellowstone Lower Falls. You did not give us any information about the details of creating this image, just a little metadata. No lens + camera. I think that the final image is showing exaggerated color saturation, being the original more realistic. Nice spray and water flow. The image is sharp. Oct 4th

91 Oct 23 Comment Jerry, Hola Señor Presidente. Great capture indeed, and it is sharp. Now; the rendered colors in your main image do not look natural. I just worked with your original image. Cindy's is still too dark and does not show any details in the plumage. BTW you have a lot of dust spots in your camera sensor. Oct 20th

97 Oct 23 Comment Hans, the albino peacock are not that common. You were lucky to see one. Once I photographed the same in a Zoo in Monroe-Michigan. Indeed he gave you a complete display front and back. The image is sharp. Come and visit group 15/Birds. Oct 20th
