Thanks Erik for your improvements, and thank you Gary for posting it. As you guys have pointed out, there is always more that can be done to make the image better. |

Guy, here now we enter the twilight zone of abstract creations. As you say, it may be addictive, and the interations are endless. Well done Ian. |

Erik, image is at peak of action. I have seen and have created a lot of images of this rodeo modality, but never seen the rider falling directly vertical with the head down. It is interesting as how each one of us has a different view of the same image. I tend to favor Guy's iteration. Great colors and sharpness. |

Vella, cows galore behind the fence, which frames them very well. They look curious of something happening in front of them. The image is sharp. Agree with Gary's PP but not the crop |

Guy, interesting juxtaposition of the statue and the metal in the building in the back, which separates both very well, and at the same time; created a composite image. It is sharp and makes an unconventional image. |

Bill, indeed; a piece of art with frame and everything. You transformed an iconic image of a smokey mountain cabin, into a watercolor ready to hang on the wall. The image is sharp, and the colors are very pastel |

Gary, I am glad that Venice Rockery is showing signs of return of the birds to nest. The last time I went there, the vegetation was completely invaded by the Brazilian vine, no birds, and a lot of construction going on around.
I like the way Mom is presenting the fish to the chick. There is no question that mom will swallow it completely in one gulp and then regurgiate to the chick. Not like the raptors do, they rip off the catch in pieces on the spot and feed them directly to the chicks.
Yes, most of the times it is very difficult to create a clean shot of the chicks. Here, it seems that the nest was at your eye level. Image is sharp, and yes; the light is harsh. |

Gary, The problem arises when you combine the three images HDR group. The most overexposed one creates that spread effect. The only one that has sharp edges is the very underexposed one, but it is too dark and if you add light, the noise is in heaven..
This is a collateral damage of the process |

Ed, the image depicts a narrow one way street in Lima which leads my eyes directly to the triangular corner building in the back. Nice mix of new and older car models. The people give scale to the image. Nice sky |

Bruce, I like your idea of processing the cropped image in B&W, since it gives more character to it, specially; framing the button accordion player's head, between the high five of the other two musicians. The man with the hat "Sombrero Vueltiao" - a fabulous hand woven hat from Colombia. Steeped with a rich history of weaving and braiding, their national symbol. The checker board patterns and rings of light and dark that turn around the brim and the top of the hat are each unique; a story woven by the artists. The image is sharp. Cartagena is a great city. |

Bill, I think this guy is overarmed for a Community Relations Officer, but what do we know. Interesting pose, with an attitude body language. Agree with you that perhaps changing the site of the background, would make the image more appealing. It is sharp. |

Gerry, yes congratulations for having your image on the members showcase. We tried to go to Brooks fall, and the waiting list was like 3 years. We did go to Katmai and stayed on o boat for several days. We got to the boat by a hydro plane, and back. Great experience. |

Kerry, great image at peak of action as the lawn bowling ball has been released. The player is frozen in an active body position, and his face shows the concentration required for a successful throw. As Ronald say, sometimes it is very difficult to avoid a person in the background. |

Bruce, another great soccer image from your private collection. The expression in the Swedish player is priceless, and the Peruvian kid is doing a master pass imitating Pele's bicycle kick which made him famous. The image is sharp, and the background is out of focus and non distracting. The amputated player at the edge of the frame is collateral damage. |

Ronald, great capture. Image is tack sharp and the face expression in both players tells the story of the moment. These are tough girls. I just learned what a wrap tackle means. Playing Devil's Advocate, some judges may say that the amputated body behind the head of the blue player is distracting. |

Gerry, that is a wave indeed. This is the first time that I see a surfer with a helmet (distracting as you say ??, or perhaps it works more as for bringing your attention to the surfer). It takes courage to surf these type of waves. Image is sharp and I like the composition. It looks like the surfer just came out of a water cave behind him. |

Hans, great image. As Bruce said, tack sharp; and the airplanes seem to come out of the frame. Perfect non distracting background. Some "smart" judges may say that the propellers are frozen (1/2000 sec, but I do not see how to get this image so sharp otherwise), and therefore not showing movement |

Thanks Hans. Interesting what you say about the image. Once in the local Camera Club the judge gave a low score because he claimed that the eyes of the man with a tie next to the Hard Rock Pole were not visible. Go and figure...... |

Mary, once again you illustrate us of different ways to present an image. Somehow, in the repetitions the noise is much obvious and yes, it creates a nice frame for the hummingbird. |

Marie, the original image gives a better context about the environment. Interesting that the gull gave up the fish. It was probably already with a full stomach. They usually are voracious and take advantage of other birds catch. The image is sharp. The fish reflection adds depth to it. I am not so keen about the high key version. |

Adrian, the Giant Petrels and the Albatrosses are the largest flying birds in nature. They can fly for days non stop and drinking the sea water. In their beak they have a special gland the takes the salt out, so you will always see them with a drop at the tip of the beak. On our trip to Antarctica we had an Ornithologist on board, that instructed us about them. Your image is sharp and with a nice background. Maria's touch up improved the image. |

Maria, your low vantage point, the blurred background and the reflection in the water really makes this image great. I also like your square crop. Using the masking brush in ACR I added some light just to the bird to make it stand out. I am including an image I captured in one of our wetlands, showing a little foreplay. |

Bruce, this osprey has a mean look probably trying to scare you photographer intruders from the nest with the chicks. It is sharp and the background is nicely handled and non distracting. Your original image of the cypress trees with the nest and the fog in the background and the reflection in the water, gives to it a dreamy look. |

Barbara, your PP and cropping improved the quality of the image, but there is still a lot going on with no central point to fix your eyes. The image is sharp. Some of the brown pelicans are doing something different, but overall lacks of a central interest point. |
