Ian, interesting image. Actually these are narrow and low boats compared to the body size of the skipper. Three boats on the canal, which is a good number. The image is sharp front to back. I find it a little dark on the water and boat. A little of ACR increased light to the shadows, lowered slightly the brightness giving a little punch to the clouds, and with the masking brush darkened and added a little saturation to the greens. |

Guy, great combination of straight and curved lines and of course shapes. The claroscuro created by the shadows gives a lot of depth to the image as well as tridimentionality. The image is very sharp. The details noted through the glass increases interest to the image. Last but not least, the touch of green gives life to it. |

Bill, you PP really paid off. Great architectural content image with straight lines in every direction, and keystone correction. The addition of more red flowers in the foreground improved it considerably by framing the statue and wall with the seals. Yes, the guy with the phone id very conspicuously hiding and of course the exchange of the sky adding the clouds. You made a snapshot into a piece of photographic art. |

Erik, no doubt that this image is good PJ as well. It was interesting the way the Native American was first doing a 360 degrees rotation and blowing smoke at each of the quarters, and then he sat down on a rock (In front of him in this image). He stayed there for a while, and after we approached him and I asked what was he doing, stating that praying, he the stood up a repeated the sequence. here we have him looking away from us. The image is sharp, and the colors are very vivid |

Gary, great light to this iconic structure at the Garden of the Gods. It denotes early morning, since part of the foreground is still dark showing the bluish hue. The shadowed area at the right edge gives depth and tridimentionality to the structure. It is sharp, and the colors are very vivid. |

Vella, good portrait of the Man from India. I like your B&W interpretation of the image and the tight crop you selected. His white beard and hair contrasts very nicely with his dark skin. The image is sharp. I jus added 1.2 Exposure to the eyes to give them more life. |

Richard, unfortunately, when you scan a negative you loose all the dynamic range and detail of the image and that is why it looks flat and too bright. I did try to improve it in ACR lowering the brightness and adding some light to the shadows and slight texture. |

Bill, great collection of lines, shapes, bright and shadowed areas, and of course the presence of your ghost. It looks to me that the image on the wall being looked at by the ghost seems to be a projection which enhances the image. The image is sharp. The Holocaust Memorial here in Miami-South Florida is more intense and dramatic. This is a borrowed getty image |

Gloria, indeed the kids are having a great time, their face and body language denotes happiness. Image is very colorful. Only one girl, behind the woman with the red hud is actually looking at you, the rest are minding their own business. Image is sharp |

Bruce, I can sense the interest showed by the curious people looking at the bird in the yellow crate/cage. These are all adults. Do not see any member of the younger generation, perhaps lack of interest or perhaps not enough advertisement about the event. The image is sharp, and all five men are looking at the cage |

Sally, good action image complemented by the nice face language of the girl behind and watching what the big brother is doing. Yes, I agree with you that having the bubbles within the frame would increase the interest to the image. It is sharp and your crop is appropriate. I do not mind the kid in the middle of the frame. Nice management of the background |

Bruce, the bull is about to fall on top of the rider who is looking up and with fear on his face. This is a good example of being at the right place at the right time and with a low vantage point. It is sharp. I am curious to see what the next image in your burst shows |

Kerry, I keep learning about Rugby in this group. It is a real battlefield in the most of unsuitable conditions. All the players are facing and looking at the splashing/wet man in the foreground. Peak of action |

Hans, here we have frozen rapid action created by the displacement of dirt to the back. The image is sharp. Ideally we want separation of the riders, but as you said, it is what it is, and we try to get the best shot possible. Good that we can see both riders faces |

Ronald, on this image is more about the public which is well illuminated and bright, even though they are soft (f/7.1 and 221 mm FL) rather than the falling rider which is dark, and we can not see his face, only one hand and one leg. Another interesting fact on this image is that most of the spectators are pretty young. The foreground is sharp and full of action. |

Gerry, lots of rapid action is going on all three images. My favorite is the Original in which there is complete separation of the players and Oklahoma 10 is about to release the ball, the Harvard player is about to hit the ground and you can tell the anticipation in the faces of the sitting players and the public. The main image is a battlefield indeed. The images are sharp. |

Cindy, the last time I saw two snowies having an argument at the Alligator farm in St Augustin-Florida, one of them fell into the water and became alligator snack. Your image is full of action and it is sharp. I like the way they are illuminated. Ver dramatic light. The image is sharp. Just as illustration, I am including my image I mentioned before. |

Geoff, I saw this Shags in South Georgia-Antarctica, they are family of the Carmorants. There was a whole colony of them. Interesting as how the build the nest with mud in a chimney fashion, one next to the other. Your image is well exposed, there are not areas blown away. The seagulls and the shag at the lower left corner does not add to the image. A square crop, just including the three shags (odd number) improves the image. |

Cindy, this image will do well in any nature section of the international saloons. I did darken the background, cropped the image and added a little light to the dark area of the adults head. I love the interaction of the adults talking to each other while watching the signets |

Pierre, it is good that you captured the King Fisher doing some action: open mouth and tongue out, otherwise it is just a picture of a bird on the top of a birdhouse. Since this is a Nature + group, some adjustments are permitted like darkening the background and eliminating the distracting bright bands. Also, the inclusion of the whole bird house overpowers the bird and makes him look kind of insignificant. You do not need the whole bird house, just a small section to show location. Using the masking brush in ACR I increased the sharpness of the bird (obviously your camera fixed the focus in front of the bird, on the wood) and cropped it |

Adrian, this is another variety of duck that I have never seen. What makes them easy to identify is the large white patch on their head. The image is sharp and the contrast with the green in the water makes it stand out. With your crop you eliminated some of the distracting elements floating in the water. Your PP was able to improve the whites. |
