Guy, The sign at the window takes prevalence and has a funny connotation. I like that you included part of the window to show the subjects being trade. You were able to bring out detail of the inside without doing a real HDR bracketed series of shots. I guess with the new AI included in everything now days we can mimic the same effect. Your original image gives us context as where this store is located |

Ian, you have intentionally centered the new life (fern) so that we can look at it directly with no distraction, and then we can annalize the rest of the tree's trunk and bark, as well as the moss in the lower third. The green tone is so vivid contrasting with the small areas of dead/dry fern. Very nice pure nature image |

Erik, great set of curved lines, shapes and colors. The gold color device breaks the monotony of the black and red. The crop gives us enough information to see the step to get into the car, the muffler and the chain. Good vantage point selection |

Vella, great vantage point showing the different layers of mountains and clouds/fog between them. Sharp. Good composition. Agree with Gary's and Guy's observations. |

Gary, Good looking kid. Obviously the light conditions were not on your side in spite it was early morning. Guy's alchemist formula did some improvements, but the overexposed left side of the face is difficult to fix. I like his pose and the way he is looking, probably to his mother. A shadowed place probably would have been better. Do not give up. Grandchildren are a lot of fun. Enjoy them to the max. They grow too fast. My youngest is already 14 |

Gloria, indeed a rainy day which makes everything look grey except the motorist for being so close to your camera. He and his motorcycle are sharp. It is unfortunate that he is going away from the camera. I just wonder if in your multiple frames created by the burst there is one where he is at the same vantage point as the camera (I presume you created the image being in another vehicle ?) |

Bruce, this is a very interesting image. The man looks very religious with the long white outfit and looking into the light coming through the open door and illuminating his front path which makes the image even more spiritual. The contrast between the blue background and the white outfit makes the man stand out in the frame. The image is sharp and very good composition. Great capture indeed. |

Sally, this is a very cute image and shows the interaction of the young rider and probably her mom/trainer. Your original PP made the image better, but still there are a lot of very bright areas that really takes prevalence competing with the girl's face. Using the masking tool in ACR and doing several selective adjustments I increased the light in her face, and reduced the highlights in several areas, and made the background darker and cropped the white fence in the lower border that is also distracting. |

Kerry lots of action implied in this image. I have never watched how a sheep is being Sheared. I also like the color version as Bruce does. It looks like it takes a lot of skill and effort to do it fast specially in a competition. Skinner looks like he knows what he is doing. The image would be better if you had included more of the Skinner |

Bruce, this rider did not end as a happy camper. As it also happens in bullfighting, not always the bullfighter wins...
Very dramatic fall and it looks like the bull's head is crashing the rider's face. It is very sharp and the colors are very bright. The presence of the clown implies tryng ton help the rider by distracting the bull. Great capture |

Ronald, lots of action going on and all the players eyes are looking at the ball. Unfortunately all the players are a little soft since the focus was centered on the ball. Now the hand protruding into the frame reminds me of the "Hand of God" goal of Maradona at the 1986 world soccer cup |

Hans, great action image with two drawbacks: Amputated back biker and not being able to see the front biker's face. The image is full of color and it is sharp. Your vantage point is very desirable. |

Gerald, great image showing children of different ages, different moving objects. Indeed the girl at the front is dominating the race and looking at you. The somewhat out of focus children in the background give depth to the image |

Hans and Ronald, that is not the case in the USA. It is allowed to photograph children in public spaces and public events |

Mary, here again you enrich our knowledge relating to underwater life and photography, which is not in any of my many trades (master of none !!). The light coming into the cave gives a sense of mystery to the image. Your PP was able to bring out color and detail. Thanks again |

Adrian, great images of the Godafoss waterfall. Long exposures of water can be very tricky since it is very easy to overexpose the water. It was not that obvious in your original image, but it shows full blown in the PP image. Interesting that you were able to get a sharp image handheld with those slow shutter speed. I worked on the original and was able to preserve detail in the water at the silky effect area. Also, I was able to bring out people that gives dimension to the image. I used several selective masking brushes. |

To crop that shadow would ruin the image. I guess I could have cloned it out here since we are not a "strict" nature group |

Marie, great capture and posture of the bird. I like the crop you selected to make the bird stand out and be framed. It is sharp and the colors are well handled. I just find the light columns in the background somewhat distracting. By selecting the bird and then inverse the selection I was able to clone out those areas making the background uniform |

Barbara, beautiful image of the male Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly on The Flutterby Snow White Butterfly Bush. Your portrait crop leaves a lot of bush/white flowers space which is competing with the butterfly. I took your original image and with a square crop and selective adjustments with the masking tool made the background/flowers darker, and added some light to the butterfly to make it stand out. The size of your image was too small so there may be some pixelation. |

Bruce, great light in the Palouse from Steptoe. What time of the day was this ? I have been there twice. Once in May and the fields were green as you show it here, and once in October after the wheat was cut, and it is a completely different landscape. The rolling hills are really unique. The image is sharp. Here is the image in October |

Maria, the winner in this image is your vantage point. You really went down. The bird is very sharp, and as Bruce said, the little crab is the cherry on top of the icecream. I did my own crop version and eliminated some of the empty space that does not add to the picture and makes the bird smaller overall. I also added some light and contrast to the bird |
