Guy, interesting distortion and painterly effect created by the reflection. What a great observation and capture. The colors are very vivid and the distorted image is sharp. There is an almost perfect symmetry as well. |

Gary, great rendition of star trails and good blend of the mountain and the multiple star trails images. I have yet to explore this technique. we did do the Milky Way when we were in South Dakota. |

Erik, thank you for posting this image. Yes, I was there, but the eye of the master selecting the right vantage point, creates the image. We were lucky with the weather and the remaining fall colors you are giving us here. Very sharp and nice contrast between the vegetation and the needles. |

Vella, you have created an artistic blur. Nice palette of colors. Very bright. agree with Gary that we do not have a central point to fix our eyes. |

Ian, just perfect. Sorry, I have no ideas to make perfect better....Red and yellow are the most difficult colors to handle in digital. You set her up like the masters did. Obviously, she is wearing contact glasses. |

Gary, actually I did not do any heavy PP. almost everything happened in camera. I must have just crop a little. I am still looking for the original's folder but somehow must be buried in one of the many external hard drives I have as back-up's (not connected to the computer) but I keep looking. |

Gloria, it looks like the image was created from a high vantage point inside the ship, and the dressed characters are sitting on the mooring bollard where the hawser is tied. I am just guessing that they are waiting for the passengers to get off so they can have picture taken with them. Good the rule of odds (three). The image is sharp and the colors are very vivid. The V like purple/red lines frame the characters. |

Bruce, what a great analogy in therapies: sweetness and love, really tell the story. Interesting PP and making the image into an almost sepia monochrome, but there are remnants of flesh color in the hands. The reversed L (as Gloria pointed out) really frames the scene, and of course, the text helps to tell the story. Image is sharp. I also like the analogy given by Dhananjay |

Roger, for us the cyclist is on the wrong side of the street, but the presence of the arrow pointing to the opposite direction in the opposite side, obviously tells us that he is on the right side. The very strong fluorescent light creates some overexposure/blown away pixels which would be impossible to recuperate with an editor. The very strong colors and concentric circles really frames the cyclist. |

Bruce, here is the image out of camera with no PP and just reduced. I did not do any sharpening. |

Les, great composition formed by the triad/triangle of kids looking at and feeding the white duck, and the rest of the ducks are filling the rest of the frame adding interest. The image is sharp and the colors are well balanced. The presence of the lily plants in the background, and the green in the lower corner, frame the action. |

Daniel, great image full of activity. Each horn blower has a different face expression and a different blowing the horn technique. I like very much the way the musicians are lined up. Your vantage point selection is very proper. In addition, the space between the second and third trumpeter shows somebody wearing a head mask resembling a wild pig (eyes visible through the openings). The image is sharp. Great creation. |

Ronald, the image exposed was the last frame of a burst (12 per second) and this one is the first of the next burst, so there is a fraction of a second difference. The jockey with the red outfit is less evident, and I did a selection and slight desaturation of the red. |

Ronald, the face expression of the player kicking the ball is telling me stay away. Great timing with the ball captured still in contact with the leg. I also like the face expression of the other players. One thing is for sure, these girls will kick anybody's a..s. I am not sure of the benefits of the amputated arms entering the frame. |

Hans, great action. I am surprised that at 1/1600 sec shutter speed, the skater in the air shows motion blur, and the man is sharp. as is the venue. Nice colors, and the black background is completely non distracting. Nice shot. |

Gerry, I agree with you that this image is a little bit unusual, since two of the three airplanes have reach an altitude, specially the orange one, where it looks it is beginning to fall down, maneuver I have seen in air shows. Each plane is in a different position, and it is a group of three. The image is sharp. The planes are so small in the frame that we can not appreciate any blur in the propellers. |

Adrian, the tree is so old, and the branches are so large and heavy, that they spread sideways giving that look you mention. |

Adrian, very good water reflection with soft pastel colors. Very peaceful site. Marie's PP made it more like a late afternoon/pre sunset image as you mention. On your Original 2 we can see one of the Rotterdam Windmills in the foreground. I do not know if you had the chance to visit the historic windmills of Kinderdijk near Rotterdam, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage list. In actuality, they are water pumps wind driven. |

Marie, great landscape waterfall, with the water showing the beautiful silky effect obtained by the slower shutter speed. The fall is in the middle of the frame, but the fact that the vegetation in both sides in the foreground, being different, and framing it, distracts your eyes in the sense that you do not care that the waterfall is in the middle. I would have left the snow in the puddle, being part of the environment. |

Randy, it is impressive as how the wide open aperture "erased" the cage wires. It is very sharp, and nicely composed landscape portrait. Beautiful animal with bright colors and very intense stare. the background is completely non distracting. |

Marianne, you are presenting a high vantage point image of the Miami River and all the high rise buildings in the area. In the back you can see the Marlin Stadium. My first comment would be that your crop ratio made the image very odd. Perhaps cropping some additional from the top will make it more appealing to the eye. I do agree with Stephen's adjustments, however; straightening made the horizon line non straight. |
